Default Nigerian Stock Market Tips

Folks,

The Stockmarket Tips for Nigerians thread have been frozen along with the rest of Nairaland.
The administator has put the site on hold for a break.

I hope we will be able to continue the conversation here, the thread was invaluable.

Please spread the word.

Are these guys telling us that stock market tips from Nairaland is no longer alive, if so is this the only reason why Seun closed it down, is this the main Seun? or a poser? SMN members, please speak up.

More questions, why was it NBA that is introducing Seun and not Seun himself?

Re: The Nairaland Forum Is Now On A Break!
« #2 on: Today at 11:43:44 AM »

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
At first the spammers were easy to handle. I just flushed out their accounts. Piece of cake.
Then all of a sudden, for some reason, multitudes of part-time spammers started showing up.
They would make sensible posts for months, and then one day log on and start posting junk.

"Get rich in 3 minutes!!" "Become a millionaire with just 15 kobo investment!" "Get a lucrative
job by paying us money" "NNPC is hiring (whereas they are not)" "Click this link 200 times!"
I even had to delete a technology forum "Internet" because people were posting so much junk.

Attempting to ban them only generated more traffic - in my inbox. Insults, threats a plenty.
So one day I woke up and said. Fine, you want to discuss junk topics, I'll give you a subforum.
I labeled it the "risky business" section. I relabelled it "scam-prone business" a few months later.

This may have been my big mistake. The scam-prone business section was a nice dumping
ground for spammy threads that people insisted on discussing. But it also attracted more and
more spammers and scammers to the forum. People would search for spam terms and land
on Nairaland. I thought my forum was enjoying a new era of growth. And it was, but it was
the wrong kind of growth. Spam growth. Get rich quick growth. (and membership growth)

The spammers and scammers, being who they are, were not content to post their junk in the
spam-prone business section. Oh no. They posted it in the business section. They posted it
in the Job section. In the Career section. In the Travel section. And it was my job to delete
this junk. Got to a point where the business section was getting spammed almost every minute.
you'd delete the spam threads or move them to the proper section and 10 of them will reappear
in the next 20 minutes. How would a volunteer moderator keep up with that? (I couldn't.)

Naijdr, Etin, glad to see friends from Nairaland! Dunno what we'll do without our fix!

Easimoni, Wanajo, Pumping, WindyWendy, Frankiriri, and a few others frequent this site. I hope they pick it up. I will look through the thread and email folks with this link. Please do same if you have their emails.

Etin, I will move the thread if Nairaland isn't back in a few days.

I do hope Nairaland comes back online but I feel for Seun, he became a victim of his huge success.

C Kenneths - I salute you. The message I posted was from Nairaland, here is a link.

Thats my problem too, The threads are too scattered out and waddling through all of it makes it diffcult.

But I know Wanaj0, WIndyWendy, easimoni ,shigidi and some others visit this site as well.
I think we should just continue on this thread till Seun gets back online. However sha ooo it will nice if some of us can help seun with moderating.

NO forum can survive without moderators, so If we go start another forum , some one gats to moderate.

Come guys help Seun out and volunteer to moderate - I have done so already.

No vex. It appears the motivation is lacking. That sudden shut down of the sister site hit below the belt. Include the fact that it is Friday.

BTW, the market looks flat today. CILeasing still on losing streak and AP lost steam finally.
