I have never requested to meet any MD before and if I wanted to, I'd rather request to meet with MD Nestle, or MD Dangcem. Definitely not Oando.

We outsiders to these inside links can only guess. Indeed it looks like lobbying. I wonder what made FSDH stop rating OANDO a buy some weeks back after rating it a buy for several months. Maybe if Wale calls them for a meet story will change again with FSDH rating.

-if I take up my rights at 12 naira, does it mean am buying at cost price of 12 irrespective of market price.
-with my 1000 units of Oando, can I only buy 2000 units since they said 2 new shares for every one share held. What if I want to buy more or less.
-can i buy thru my broker or bank.

-when will the units bought reflect on my account. At the end of the rishts issue exercise or sometime latter.

-can i buy thru my broker or bank. YES, list of agents if available on the rights form and it includes banks and stockbrokers.

-when will the units bought reflect on my account. At the end of the rishts issue exercise or sometime latter. Sometime later. Usually, there is a process that needs to be done e.g allotment approval by SEC after the offer has closed. Check the rights form, it should give you an idea.

It ranked parri passu. It qualifies for any declaration that will be made for YE 2012. The right offer will be listed in May 2013. The result for OANDO will be out in June 2013.

You may want to read the rights prospectus. There is a clause in it that may not make them qualify...something about allotment date...)

You need 2 take ur time and read d prospectus very well.The forecast is to pay over 3b 4 2012 yead end translating to about N1.50k as dividend. If u put 2 plus 2 together u wil discover dat oando is not likely 2 pay dividend on d right issue share. I have a feeling dat dey wil deliberately delay d allotment process in order to justify deir action.

I suspect that those taking their rights will however be able to take their profits when the shares are listed cos by then the value of OANDO will be at about N25. (cool 100% in 6 months)

I read the thing and saw the fine prints and doing the calculation. Imagine the number of investors that will factor the dividend into their calculation. Better to buy on the floor than buy the rights!
