this is from KOD tweeters page. get ready to explain the implication of this. so what say thou?
I guess Soros was not comfortable with the blind-folding aka corporate (mis)governance hide & seek game, and he got tired of it...or are there other tenable reasons he sold out?

Okay guys, me no dey Rencap conference oh but I spoke to one of two people and the explanation is this: Soros started his hedge fund as a family office but after a while, he decided to open it to the public...He later had to revery to his family office styled hedge fund because of regulatory requirements in the U.S which he was not ready to comply with. Hence, he had to sell down some of his fund's assets to return the cash to those who were not qualified to have funds under his management....I hope this shed more light on the palaver...

Bros, Oya enter google, type George Soros...what you see should answer most of what u asked for....as for the bolded portion...I don't know what proportion he was holding but he wasn't part of the management.

One more expo...RenCap was the majore broker selling Oando, so I believe the George Soros story....

It also makes sense when you look at the dates in the news of Soros returning "outside" money. Oando's continuous drop started mid last year. See what common $1bn can do to a stock on the NSE

The corelation makes sence ...but why was it also that it was 'around the same time' of the shares drop that OANDO announced that 'rubbish' reverse acquistion of Exile resources that they poorly communicated to shareholders? and also why is it 'around the same time' that they have decided to pay off Ocean & Oil and as such make all the provisons they want to make in their account statement???

Payment to O&O wasn't announced until recently, so as someone already mentioned here, I think they thought that the share price has taken enough hit to withstand any such announcement. Btw, listening to the conference call of November, the deal with Exile doesn't seem rubbish at all, according to Tinubu, OANDO would like to raise capital but not at the level of OANDO plc in Nigeria.

The story about George Soros divesting from the Nigerian market has been in the public domain since now( I think it was Sir KOD that brought it to our attention sometime ago).
It was also linked to why the price of Zenith bank was crashing sometime ago.
