Yesterday, I bought AGO at N135 / liter from a private fuel station. NNPC stills sells AGO at N155 per liter. If PMS is deregulated, the price may drop below N87.

Sir Waves, you cannot expect commonsense economics from a clueless govt, whose top priority is self preservation and inordinate ambition.

I also agree that GEJ is not perfect. he has his faults. But one thing you can not take from him is that he is a true democrat and a gentleman. Part of his problem is his refusal to do the roforofo nigeria politics when advised to, and he has the power to so do. But well meaning nigerians are coming around to see this as a strength rather than a weakness.

Democrat indeed. DemoCRAZY as demonstrated by 16-19 in gov forum, 7-26 in Ekiti, etc.
Constitutionalism begets democracy......so, all Nigerians who participate in lawful elections that throw up various tiers of government are democrats. NEVER HEARD OF A ONE-MAN DEMOCRACY:

A sub-optimal decision, no doubt! But it's politics, regardardless! An electoral gift for the myopic electorate, but a welcome relief to the "crooked" oil marketers (the rent seekers) to further justify the commercial case for the elongation of the sub-optimal oil-subsidy regime....

Haba, Oga mii! Someone single-handedly engineered PDP to churn him out as the only presidential candidate - clandestinely bull-dozing other possible heavy-weight candidates out of the party, using and dumping fellow political folks, controlling the gov forum etc; and you said that it's not rofo-rofo, huh? Something Baba OBJ couldn't do in his own re-election agenda! Haba! It's just a different kind of rofo-rofo, a meek-ish rofo-rofo! Not the in-your-face one! Fooling people by his dull and docile appearance, but using federal might etc to force to his antagonists negotiate or be bull-dozed nicely! He can be clueless in act of governance, but not in politics! I doff my political hat for him!

I just dey laff. When i told people to fear quiet people, they thought i was cracking jokes or just making noise. What OBJ who claimed to be politically savvy had to beg for, GEJ just got on a platter.

Oga mii! I dey o! Publicly, Atiku is still falling in line with Buhari for now! But it's still a fluid political situation! Serious 11th hour negotiation still taking place... As election date gets nearer, we shall see the mother of realignments/shifting amongst the political heavyweights...

And there are simple things a Nigerian government can do to shield already impoverished Nigerians from the volatility of oil prices in the global markets, it starts with ensuring internal refining in Nigeria so we stop round-tripping our oil. If GEJ didn't work that out in his 6 years in government so far, I doubt he'll work it out in the next 4 so while I agree he might have swayed some people, he hasn't swayed me.
My brother, he will not work anything out in his last legge, historically speaking! If GEJ in his seeking re-election form, is delivering sub-optimal performance, displaying such blatant leadership failure & ineptitude and cultivating institutional corruption, then just imagine the performance of a lame duck and lackadaisical GEJ on his last leg! Personally, I think we have seen the best of GEJ (his capacities etc) and it's going to be a downward performance spiral if he is re-elected; not to talk of the unprecedented impunity, in-your-face corruption galore particularly amongst his inner caucus!

When will this Govt listen to APC and start tackling corruption, insecurity and providing an enabling environment that creates well-paying jobs for the numerous unemployed? It is good to see the Govt follow where APC leads. However, the people cannot be deceived. For 4 years this Govt has piled pain and suffering on Nigerians, watching as Nigerians are killed and slaughtered, looking away as poverty and hunger decimates our people, then all of a sudden, 4 weeks to an election is reduces fuel prices by N10 after jacking it up by N32 not too long ago. Nigerians need to be reminded than under this Govt, fuel prices have increased (not reduced) by N22 (assuming you can buy at official price). To put this into perspective, in 2011, brent crude was at $100 and pump price was N65, today, Brent is at $48 while pump price is at N87. So while crude oil price has fallen 50%, Jonathan has increased pump prices by 33%!.

2. To further show this reduction is an election political gimmick (no surprises), why is NOI still basing the revenue projections for 2015 on $65 oil price while Diezani is basing expenditure on $48. At the very heart of this is confusion in the Govt. The left hand doesn't talk or agree with the right. This is a Govt of 'vulcanisers'. All they focus on is not to fix the engine of the economy (as a mechanic would do) but to apply a patch (like a vulcaniser). Friends, this is a Govt of economic obiomas. Hopefully, BudgIt will provide data showing the blackhole in Govt finances based on a $48 oil price. For so long, [b]this Govt has presented itself as a Govt of prudence, now we know, it's a govt of plunder![b] A Govt that will do anything but the right thing to save the economy. A Govt which puts its survival and interests above national interests.

3. Finally and perhaps more importantly, this reduction in fuel price isn't a gift to the masses. It's real target are the subsidy thieves, the briefcase fuel importers and the friends of this Govt. I'll explain. With the recent sharp fall in crude prices, it became obvious that Govt subsidies were no longer required, i.e genuine fuel marketers could import fuel and sell profitably without subsidies. If this had been allowed to continue. The subsidy theieves would have been exposed. Suddenly, the amount of fuel been 'imported' to the country would have dropped significantly. Why? Because some of the oil purportedly been 'imported' may well not have been imported. A good porportion is made up. It's purely fictional and it's simply a scam to claim subsidy payments. This would have exposed this Govt subsidy regime. Hence, it had to bring back subsidies before they got found out. Without this reduction in price, the briefcase importers were at risk of going out of business (the fraud business). However, rather than fix the problem, 'sugar mummy' came to the rescue. Since this Govt won't rescue the masses, the masses have decided to seek another way. Because surely, there is another way.

#DialAPC - Love is forever not just at election time

This is the #ThirdSign this Govt has realised its imminent defeat on #FeBuhari 14

Na wa for this your 11th hour negotiation. That was how you were talking and singing about 11th negotiation and realignments nor knowing that negotiation and realignments had already taken place at the 1st hour. Na so #Atiku2015 got to the place at the 11th and he was given the 3rd position.
