Many feared dead as military bombard militant camp in Delta - Vanguard News

Quote:
WARRI- SOME militants were suspected to have lost their lives when troops of the Operation Delta Safe bombed a militant camp at Okosugbene Creek, along Burutu-Warri River, near Burutu, Delta State, with two fighter jets and about seven gun boats for nearly an hour on Thursday. Reports from the area said that soldiers, who struck at about 6.00 am caught the militants unawares.
I hope some lessons have been learnt by all....

May the souls of these Cameroonian soldiers rest in peace. Good to see further confirmation that the epicentre of the conflict is moving away from our shores that had bore the brunt of it for so long and away from population centres to remote millitary locations. We must make sure that we aid our neighbors too as they've aided us in our time of need. That poisonous ideology must be eliminated from the lake Chad basin for ever.

Nigeria’s anti-corruption crackdown creates political gridlock

https://www.ft.com/content/d1afafcc-...8-79a99e2a4de6

Quote:
“There are people within the party who are very aggrieved across the country,” says Clement Nwankwo, executive director of the Policy and Legal Advocacy Centre, a think-tank in Abuja. “There’s a widespread feeling that the president has not set up an inclusive government, so the level of fragmentation within the APC is very deep.”

Once we’ve crossed the two-year mark, and we’re into election season, it’s going to be much more difficult for the president

One of the most damaging splits has centred on Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the canny political godfather of Nigeria’s south-west, who played kingmaker to Mr Buhari by rallying votes in the ethnic Yoruba community. Tension boiled over in September when Mr Tinubu issued a statement accusing Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, the APC chairman, of attempting to doctor the results of a party primary election. Mr Buhari has since held conciliatory talks with Mr Tinubu, but such ructions have overshadowed more incremental achievements.

For example, Mr Buhari’s “zero tolerance” policy on graft has spurred faster efforts to weed ghost workers from the public sector — with 80,000 removed from payrolls this year, compared to 60,000 in the seven years to 2014, according to official data. Similarly, Mr Buhari has taken the significant step of centralising government finances into a single account at the Central Bank of Nigeria to curb cronyism, a move that had been promised by previous governments but never implemented.

N23bn Diezani bribe: EFCC to charge 100 electoral officials - Punch Newspapers

Quote:
Sources within the EFCC told our correspondent that the acting Chairman of the EFCC, Mr. Ibrahim Magu, and the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, would meet tomorrow (Thursday) in Abuja to tidy up the charges that would be filed against the suspects.

While some of the officials would only face dismissal for breach of INEC rules, a majority of them would be arraigned by the EFCC.

Some of the officials, who have returned a total sum of N400m, may not face prosecution.
yet many will be telling me that the 2015 Presidential elections was free and fair..

You certainly didnt see the irony in my post. So much for the presence or absence of an IQ. You do have a point about why some 'Supported' Boko Haram but not about how BH came to be, those who want knowledge seek it and don't just gobble up every tripe they are told.
If I asked you for example how many reported deaths there were in Nassaraw for Q4 2014, I'm almost sure you dont know ad cant even guess correctly.

As at today though, what you should be more worried about is why some are supporting Vandaltants and IPOB and how the herdsmen menace will be contained, BH has been very well contained. In 2017 more deaths will likely come from herdsmen and other communal clashes than from BH if that is not already the case in Q4 2016 but you wouldnt know that because you never look at the statistics.
BH has been well contained in the Lake Chad basin and that fire of fanaticsm will only continue as a flicker of lone wolf attacks as deradicalization programs take root to not only win the millitary victory but also hearts and minds blighted by fanaticsm.

BREAKING: Court denies Kanu bail again

https://www.thecable.ng/breaking-court-denies-kanu-bail

Quote:
Binta Nyako, justice of the federal‎ high court, has denied Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), and three other accused persons bail.

Delivering a ruling on an application for bail filed by Ifeanyi Ejiofor, Kanu’s counsel, on Thursday, she held that the offences the defendants — Kanu, Benjamin Nmadubugwu, Chidiebere Onwudiwe and David Nwawusi — were charged with were not entirely bailable.

She said the charge of treasonable felony, which hands on the necks of the defendants, attracts‎ a life sentence.

Nyako, therefore, denied them bail on the grounds that their case was sensitive to national security.
The next thing for all IPOB apologist now is to call buhari a Despot!
