He is huge shame to the country. The judiciary system of this country is in rubbles. Nigeria/nigerians are now laughing stock. Nothing works here!

Farida warizi should go into exile. She is not different from them. There is no upright person in Nigerian govt.

And Oga eni made a very good point, will GEJ thank the UK govt for this? Will current Delta state governor thank the UK govt for this? Will David Mark thank the UK govt for this?

It is a huge shame! Starting from GEJ and all those nonsense SANs in our justice system, they should all go into self exile! This revelation will tell you what is going on in Nigeria. You put your money in the bank and directors loot them. Nothing happens! You buy properties/firms and they revoke them cos of due process. And it becomes history! Govt officials steal without pity and they allow them to walk free. Where is NDDC man who transferred $20m into a UK account. It is all history now! The country is a scam!

I used to say it here that people steal money from govt through inflation of contracts and reduction in standards.

This is an example:
If I open a bid for the construction of X km of road, I will get their quotations. You will tell your front to submit their quotation having a lower value than Maybe(Julius Berger) and having the same specifications of the road, materials to be used etc. Then you knock off the main contractor that will do the job.

If a job is meant to be done with N30b. You will need to budget like N30b plus a certain percentage for unforeseen changes that might occur. That unforseen changes will be pocketed. Then I will press on the contractor to reduce standards/quality. If the road thinkckness is to be 8 inches thick, you may tell them to make it 4 inches. This is a savings from material, labour and time! If the road is to be X km long, you may reduced it by some measurement and you will have savings from material, labour and time. If the road is to be Y metre wide, you will reduce it by some measurement and you will have savings from material, labour and time.

At the end of the job, you will be earning more than the contractor doing the job for doing NOTHING!

There is no standard, no supervision. There is Nothing!

This is unfortunately the sad fact of life in Nigeria. A country ruled by thieves. Our politicians, traditional and religious rulers will confirm this by staying largely silent about Ibori's guilty plea. They will avoid talking about it. Their silence will be deafening!!!

1. Will the Delta State governor now publicly condemn Ibori and the industrial scale looting of state funds under his watch?
2. Will Uduaghan publicly thank the British justice system for making sure that justice is done for the Delta people?
3. Will Jonathan and PDP now ostracise Ibori and expel him from the party?
4. Will Jonathan use his influence to ensure that anyone convicted of a criminal offence is automatically expelled from PDP?
5. Will GEJ ask the Attorney General to commence perjury charges against Ibori for giving a false date of birth and for hiding his previous criminal conviction. Will Jonathan ensure that Ibori's tenure as governor is declared illegal, reversed and gazetted.
6. Now is the time to make constitutional amendments and strip elected officials of immunity.

Unfortunately, Nigerians go to bed tonight in the full knowledge that thieves remain in government house. Our judicial system is broken. Our police is broken and the castrato leadership continue to sing discordant tunes.

Let's raise three cheers for the CPS (Crown Prosecution Service). Now we know that Ibori isn't just a liar. He is a thief! A thief by his own admission in open court!! Now, that is priceless!
Thanks Mate. You should also include the Supreme court justices of Nigeria who held that Jame Onanefe Ibori that won the Delta State governorship election was not the same Jame Onanefe Ibori that was convicted earlier of stealing building materials in Abuja in the '90s.

I sorry for this country.

How appropriate a title: A THIEF IN THE GOVERNMENT HOUSE (does anyone remember Etcetera, the Nigerian artist who did the song with that title?).
Justics Mohammed Uwais (Former CJN) should also bury his head in shame for obstructing justics with his judicial rascality on issue of Ibori being an ex convict.

Farida Waziri was broght in to defend the interest of Ibori and co when Ribadu was proving 'too holy'. waziri was brought in by Aoondokka the then minister of (in)justics, himself was a personal atorney to Ibori. Ibori put a ring arround Yar Adua that Ibori's interest became 9ja's interest. remember Edevbe? the principal officer to Yardua who was credited to have gone to meet Yard in his sick bed to sign supplimentry budget? he is Ibori's 'man friday' who carry out all his fanancial deals including the controvarsial v-mobile sale. he was the finance comisioner to ibori.

during the time of waziri, there was so much impunity toward curruption. that was when we had the worst type of plea bargain by Igbinedion.

The real joker is that when they return the money it'll be re-stolen. Nigeria and Nigerians have a culture of corruption and all these oyinbo people should stop wasting their time, the poor people they're fighting for would do worse if they get there.

THEWILL - Expanding the National Conversation - DEPRIVATION & DERIVATION PRINCIPLES: WHY THE NORTH IS POOR (I)

Interesting write up but with a lot of mix ups in geography and some oil block ownership..

Enter South Atlantic Petroleum Limited (SAPETRO). South Atlantic Petroleum (SAPETRO) is a Nigerian Oil Exploration and Production Company that was created in 1995 by General T. Y. Danjuma. General Sani Abacha awarded the Oil Prospecting License (OPL) 246 to SAPETRO in February 1998.

Enter AMNI (or is it AMIN?) International Petroleum Development Company. AMNI owns two oil blocks – OML 112 and OML 117. In the production sharing contract, AMNI gets 60% for owning the oil block and Total gets 40% for providing technical advice. OML 112 was awarded on the 12/02/1998 while OML 117 was awarded 06/08/1999 all by Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar. Operations started on both blocks 0n 26/02/2006. The licenses are due to expire 11/02/2018 and 05/08/2019 respectively. (Now you see why the next election is important?).

The Okoro and Setu fields in OML 112 are operated by Afren Energy, a company substantially controlled by Rilwanu Lukman. The Okoro and Setu oil fields have about 50 million barrels in reserve and currently produce/exports just a little below 20,000 barrels per day. The chairman of AMNI International Petroleum and Development Company is Alhaji (Colonel) Sani Bello a Fulani from Kontagora, Niger State. Lest I forget, Alhaji Bello’s son- Abu, is married to General Abdusalami Abubakar's eldest daughter.

Enter Oriental Energy Resources Limited, a company owned by Alhaji Mohammed Indimi, a Fulani and close friend of General Ibrahim Babangida. Also worthy of note is that General IBB’s first son is married to Alhaji Mohammed Indimi’s daughter – Yakolo Indimi-Babangida, who also serves as a director in the company. Alhaji Indimi hails from Niger State

Oriental Energy Resources Limited runs three oil blocks: OML 115, the Okwok field and the Ebok field. OML 115 and Okwo are OML PSC, while Ebok is an OML JV. All of them crown offshore oil blocks. OML 115 on its own is 228 sqKm. On OML115 Oriental Energy Resources Limited has 60 per cent while Equity Energy Resources AS, which Alhjai Aliko Dangote’s oil and gas investment vehicle has 40 per cent (Aliko Dangote is from Kano). On Okwok, Addax has 40% and on the Ebok field, Oriental Energy Resources shares with none: its 100%. AMNI produces twice as much as Cavendish Petroleum.

Enter Express Petroleum and Gas Limited floated by Alhaji Aminu Dantata, solely for the purpose of fronting for winning oil block(s) even though he and the company are in no way qualified for the award. General Abacha awarded him OML 108 on the 1st of November, 1995.

But come o.. KOD, where una dey when these people were sharing the whole of the oil in Niger delta among themselves?

This is the root of Boko Haram and why the Northern oligarchy wants to maintain the number one position at all costs. That informed the so-called 'northern consensus candidate' concuction.

But these rogues are in for the worst surprise of their lives. If they like let them employ the Arab suicide bombers, they've lost it already.

There is/was a conspiracy/arrangement and it's not based on tribe but rather as compensation for loyalty to the illegal military government of the day. It so happens that the most (not all) of those who benefitted were northerners but it wasn't based on tribe.

The truth is that if Nigerians want to move forward they need to start telling themselves the truth. Everyone who committed treason needs to have their award stripped, they need to be tried and sentenced to death (they could then be pardoned), every economic decision carried out by these governments that benefitted individuals needs to be reversed, this includes allocation of oil blocks, land and other concessions because the governments were illegal thus decisions taken illegal. Do this and you send a strong message that we as a society respect laws irrespective of time, but as long as you celebrate rebels and coup plotters your laws will forever remain a joke.

Search me. There is a reason why some people would rather die than see Nigeria break into two or three. Unfortunately, all these deals were cut in Lagos and Abuja and me, I was still busy writing WAEC and had no clue when they were sharing the oil wells. I for just go marry Abacha's cousin's daughter and get three oil wells in return.

You are such an idealist... Don't worry very soon Ibori will be back in Nigeria, run for a senatorial seat under the aegis of PDP and become the next senate president, after David Mark becomes the president of Nigeria, and then pass laws to fight "corruption".

What we need right now is to develop a vibrant private sector that will dwarf the Nigerian Government. We need companies that can have better credit ratings than Nigeria. UBS Warburg's asset base dwarf the GDP of Switzerland...
