Seperating August 27, 1985 from December 31, 1983 is like looking for the difference between six and half a dozen. The mistake of the latter date was corrected on the former. After all, if you want a job well done, you do it yourself.

Democracy is all about choices........sometimes you have to choose the lesser evil. Obviously, you convinced yourself that a corrupt Tinubu with a fair Ribadu could do worse than what PDP had done in the preceeding 12 years to 2011.

But the NIS Public Relations Officer, Joachim Olumba, told our correspondent on the telephone on Tuesday that thousands of applicants had submitted applications to the service, adding that the qualified ones were recently shortlisted for possible employment.

He said, “The media reports on the recruitment were mischievous and far from the truth. We didn’t advertise the vacancies because we don’t want a repeat of what happened during the 2006 recruitment exercise when many applicants died.”

So if the positions were not advertised, how did "thousands" know that there were vacant positions?

anyway, why did they not advertise? is it because (a) they did not want "unknown" terrorists to apply or (b) they did not want applicants to die or (c) a combination of (a) and (b) or (d) none of the above
