Though I believe that Government along can not fund sport, Private along can not fund it either hence there is need for Government private combination. Above all transparency in spend is more important.

If sport was not funded how would Okoacha, Kanu Nwakwo and his heart foundation have come. Through sport some youths who would have been involved in crime because of unemployment are earning salary and allowances. Though sports have not developed in nigeria but with funding Clubs like man u will come up in nigeria and start paying tax. You can see the prospect in sport.

I think that should left to interested members of the private sector and our educational institutions.

A responsible Government should kick start a programme and invite others to join. At the level of sport development in Nigeria, it is still not attractive for private investment. To make it attractive they should still fund it for now.

They better fund the education and health sectors. I am of the opinion that sports is a personal affairs and should left to the private sector.

Schools can incorporate sports into their curricullum. We should go back to era where most of our sportsmen were discovered during schools sporting competions.
