Just learnt of Omatek PP coming out N/week.
It's N2.50 for 50k share.
I hear it's hush hush and already sold out.
planned to open for 1day only.
Issueing house is Afribank capital.
Planned to list mid Q4 '08

From a brief overview of their website, I can see they are into assembling (manufacturing) laptops, TVs etc.

I will not make any comment until the prospectus is posted

pls a point of correction.omatek manufactures computers.they are a major competitor to zinox computers.considering that nigeria is developing technological-and at a fast rate too-i think it is gonna be a good investment,provided it is supported by good fundamentals.be wise.

Thats exactly what i'm calling for 'WISDOM' on our part, since every Tom Dick & Harry wants to come out with a PP. We need to do some 'sifting' to be sure we dont go wrong. And point of correction, they assemble computers, they dont make them. I hold no prejudice, lets wait for the PROSPECTUS. Its not about manufacturing computers, lets see their figures, their projections and their market share before we declare them a 'Goldmine'. I've been to their website, and have found the 'Major Achievement', 'Client', and 'Endorsements' sub -menu's blank. I thought they should be eager to fill it up with their major selling points and reasons why they should be taken seriously.
Abi dem wan use part of the PP money develope their website..?
I think with 1st impressions we can deduce which coy to take seriously before we declare 'Goldmines'.

I think GTB and Zenith are heavily invested in Omatek through the SME financing thing. I think FBN is also invested in it (not too sure). Each of them own about 40% or 20% each of the company. They also opened a plant in Ghana recently. They are quite good. Hopefully, if we see the prospectus, we will see how good they have been but be rest assured that this is not another anyhow company. They are major competitors to Zinox and have gotten some very good deals with FG in the past for exclusive usage of their computers.

For certain zenith has about 40% in it, disclosured thru the sme financing scheme. And sure they do not 'just sell' computers, they assemble it and hav there own brand of laptops/wkstations largely used in zenith/gtb branches.
They benefited recently from the computer 4 all initiative of the FGn and, if i recollect well, they have outstanding orders that they/zinox&co wd probably not be able 2 satisfy.
Surely it gonna be a 'must buy' pp.

Not yet known, but will be on a look out to see what the prospectus have for us. I think someone promised to send it tommorrow.
