I do not know what you mean by "soon". Otherwise, I may have also added Spring Bank, Union Bank and Dangote Cement - each of which might come to the market not later than thrird quarter. Probably, a combination of Sterling Bank and Ecobank (or, if the merger fails, at least Sterling Bank - if not both of them).

Default Equity Assurance as well...

One more...

Equity...

A strategy to think of is buy now on secondary market, get the Rights Issue and but PO as well...

Depending on horizon, dump what was purchased at secondary market while you wait for share certs to be mailed and verified. This way you maximize benefits.

I think Equity Assurance share price has laready been placed on a technical suspension, preparatory to a public offer. So, buying now would be too late to qualify the buyer for the rights issue while selling now does not deprive the seller the right to rights issue.

I heard SAHCOL is going to be privatised this year and the Senate is really putting pressure to fasten the process and they also intend to go on an IPO after the privatisation

True... you are 101% correct.

...obviously strategy applies for coys like Unity and Niger insurance which we have reasons to believe will PO in 08.

I would even stay away from coys that get pumped up just before technical suspension.

It does not seem very likely that Unity Bank would make a rights issue. Their concern should be how to reduce state government ownership in the bank to the maximum of 10% required by the CBN and this would not be furthered if state governments still take up right issues. So, if the major block of shareholders would not take up their rights, why making the risght issue? That is my own thinking, which may however not be supported by reality when the public offer is made.
