For 6 - 12 months horizon, go for banking stocks, particularly a combination of Diamond Bank, UBA, Oceanic, Access Bank, FCMB, Bank PHB (and even Skye Bank and First Inland Bank). You may also wish to consider Guinness and, maybe, WAPCO. Non-blue chip stocks are generally too richly priced at the moment and are, therefore, prone to substantial risks of downturn in their prices.
