Company Results
I reckon we need a place to share and view info on company results. So I start off with what I found in The Punch today.

AG LEVENTIS NIGERIA PLC: Audited results for the year ended 31st December 2006 show a turnover of N7.15 billion as against N7.04 billion in 2005. Profit after tax and minority interest stood at N394.53 million compared with N343.32 million in 2005. The directors are recommending a dividend of N0.10 per share. The date of closure of register of members is 14th May 2007, while payment date is 29th June 2007.
COSTAIN (WEST AFRICA) PLC: Unaudited results for the third quarter ended 31st December 2006 show Turnover of N2.1 billion, as against N1.45 billion in the comparable period of 2005. Profit after tax stood at N137.8 million compared with loss after tax of N591.92 million in 2005. ECOBANK TRANSNATIONAL INCORPORATED: Audited results for the year ended 31st December 2006 show a Gross Earnings of $359.9 million as against $244.7 million in 2005. Profit after tax and minority interest stood at $69.35 million compared with $41.5 million in 2005. The directors are recommending a final dividend of 3 Cents (N3.80) per share. The date of closure of register of members and payment would be advised later. The stock price had on December 29, 2006 been adjusted for an interim dividend of 1 Cent thus bringing the total dividend to 4 Cents per share. NIGERIAN BOTTLING COMPANY PLC: Audited results for the year ended 31st December 2006 show a turnover of N59.7 billion as against N55.44 billion in 2005. Profit after tax and minority interest stood at N1.05 billion compared with N2.31 billion in 2005. The directors are recommending a dividend of N0.30 per share. The date of closure of register of members is 14th May 2007, while payment date is 29th June 2007. OANDO PLC: Audited results for the year ended 31st December 2006 show a turnover of N209.3 billion as against N182.8 billion in 2005. Profit after tax stood at N2.8 billion compared with N1.51billion in 2005. The directors are recommending a dividend of N4.00 per share. The date of closure of register of members is 30th April 2007, while payment date is 25th May 2007. SMART PRODUCTS NIGERIA PLC: Unaudited results for the half year ended 30th June 2006 show Turnover of N0.09 million, as against N22.5 million for the full year ended December 31, 2005. Loss after tax and exceptional items stood at N2 million compared with N6.6 million during 2005. However, after adjusting for previous losses, the company recorded loss after tax and exceptional items of N41.5 million compared with N43.5 million during 2005.

Anyone know about Afroil?
@ Enurayce - I'm an ordinary member like anyone else. Neither do I have any special privileges or access.
All I do is try to contribute as positively as I can, so that we all benefit. You might probably have to send a private msg to Paragon or EIC (Editor-in-chief). As for Afroil: I can't find any info on them. I sign up to a service that provides financial data ( and have checked with others), but they don't have anything current on Afroil the most recent financial data is for 1999. What this suggests (as far as I can tell) is that they haven't being profitable for a while, hence the lack of current data. May be other members in the house who care enough will help?

It is sometimes not a good time to buy stocks just before they release results unless you know something from the inside that the public doesnt
You will join the bandwagon of speculators and may end up paying over the odds People buy stocks to benefit from rights issues, boinus issues and dividends However if the results are strong the price will continue to rise and you may also benefit from the strong bullish trend on the other hand poor results will lead to a big drop in share price The price of a stock is usually adjusted after they have issued a dividend to reflect this and it usually goes lower try and buy before the stock gets hot
