Not a bad idea but timing is crucial. I entered on Monday.

UPL gave 30k dividend for last year and the current forward PE is around 13x which is good. In fact, the best in the sector. Compare to Longman at 23x.

The bears dealt with the stock driving down the price and it was overlooked when the bulls rebounded so a good entry choice.

As of today, I have PE ~ 16 for Longman and ~ 15 for UPL. Longman released full year result last week.

I did not update Longman's result. Now I have. Depending on how your project your earnings we will differ. I now have 13x for Longman and 13x for UPL too. Ordinarily I won't go for Longman because it is illiquid and the 100k rule will impact it. In any case it is in TS.

UPL has a projected full year EPS of 56K based on 300 million shares in issue. The small share float is in its favor but getting it to buy at this time is another question. The forward PE by my calculations at today's closing price, N9.14, is 16.32x. It is still fairly priced and good for long term but there are stocks with better safety margin in the market at the moment.

You have to understand that UPL and Longman are quite seasonal. Q-4 is a very important quarter for them and you have to weigh this when estimating your full year PAT.

UPL was a target because while everyone was chasing other stocks, no one was looking at it. Many stocks have good fundamentals right now but because they have gained like 20% in the last few days, short termers will trying bailing out and this will dent the price. There is no point buying a stock at a point that it gained 25% in 5 days. By the time your shares clear CSCS which is another 3 days, profit takers will have caused damage to the price.

We already saw this with First Bank and Dangote today.

Their 4th quarter is from January to March. Do you mean they usually make more money during this period than any other time of the year? Ah! I would have thought the 3rd quarter was their season, based on the fact that schools generally resume new sessions at this time.

Wow... that is the only thing I can say...

The linear year end EPS is 78K based on this results... but wait a minute, University Press is not on the NSE list today. Has it been delisted or what?
