Invest in Real Estate or Stocks?

I have some amount of earnings apart from the ones that I save for my necessities. I want the earnings invested in some real estate or may be in stocks. I do have some knowledge on stocks but, earlier my cousin had invested in the stocks and had a set-back. I know that you need to be updated in that but – What is a better option from the two???

Real estate is good,Stock market investment is equally good.You can say one is better than the other.lt depends on what your temperament,skill, knowledge,time and experience can cope with.
lf your talking of capital preservation and appreciation,l think real estate is good.But you need a high capital outlay to start real estate,unlike stock that you can start with N1000.l started buying stocks with just N5000, and it has really grown geometrically and astronomically.
lf you are not comfortatable with the volatility of the stock market,then stick with real estate.But the real money is made from what people call volatility, provided you understand the busines.
Any body can make money in real estate,but any body can not make money in stocks except the market is bullish.The tool required in the stock market is Knowledge and information.lf you can not stand this rigour,l think real estate will be better for.When you are talking of liquidity,stock market is the place to be.There are properties,which have been in the market for more than 1year.But if you take N1 billion worth of FBN to the market,it will be converted to cash within 2weeks or earlier than that.
The people playing the real estate market in Nigeria are seriously into the stock market.lt is therefore good for evey shrewd investors to also have a real estate portfolio.
