Default High Yield Investments

I've been doing some research for some time on High Yield Investment Products (HYIPs) for my magazine but considering what I've gained from this site, I think I'll just go ahead and share part of it with you guys. This isn't all, so I'll send the rest later. But for now, this is it. However, for things like this, there's only one hard and fast rule: Don't invest money you can't afford to lose!!! Read on and enjoy.

BRAM
Brickfield Road Associates Asset Management (BRAM) is an equity investment portfolio for the investments of funds in such a manner that investment portfolio yields a maximum return at the end of a given time period usually one financial year .The investment portfolio is targeted at a return of 30% on a monthly basis. Aggressive stocks are selected on a monthly basis and their performance ratios and indices on the stock market studied to measure performance and ensure that investments yield a maximum return. A minimum initial capital of N100,000 is required to be invested for duration of minimum of three months. All payments made by investor would be directly into the BRAM account.
Returns: Subscribers stand to gain an investment return of 75% of returns made on their investments, and the remaining 25% goes to BRAM. Any investor who wishes to sell off all or part of his/her stocks after this minimum investment period would be required to give a minimum of seven (7) working days notice in writing. Valuation reports on portfolios and investment position would be sent to individual subscribers on a monthly basis.

CANADIAN DIAMOND TRADERS
CDT is a network marketing company, but which unlike other network marketing companies, does not require you to sell anything. Instead, you are required to register with $500 (N64,000) which qualifies you to be a miner and is regarded as a down payment for diamonds which you will get when you cycle out.
After registering, you are required to bring in two people who will also register with $500 each and are also required to bring two people each. When each person brings in two people you will rise through the ranks i.e. from miner to cutter to polisher and then to collector. In all, fifteen people (including yourself) will have to come on board for you to reach the position of collector.
When you have the 14 people under you, you cycle out and the board splits so that the two polishers under you can rise to the position of collector. At the point of cycling out, you receive a bonus of $3,000 (N384,000) in cash and diamonds worth $2,500. However, at the time of payment you will only be given $2,500 cash. The balance of $500 will be used to re-register you. You can monitor your progress online using the username and password you will get when you register.
Returns: 400% returns on investment and the duration depends completely on the speed of you and your team in bringing in new members.

GENERIS FINANCIAL SOLUTIONS (GFS)
GFS hopes to do about 7% per month. The founders promise total transparency and less risk, which of course implies less profit. Investment vehicles include the stock market, real estate and venture capital. A proper MOU will be signed before business commences, with a promise of guaranteed safety of seed capital. GFS targets Nigerians in diaspora who don’t want to loose sleep over their investments in Nigeria. This is being organised by Deolu Akinyemi for those of you who know him.
Returns: 5% guaranteed monthly returns.

GREENMINDS
Greenminds Investment is organised by Cidabel Energy Limited. Cidabel is involved in the Oil/Diesel market as middlemen, which seems to be the in-thing in Nigeria right now. In 2004, returns of N40,000 were being made for oil blocks costing N330,000. However, the company soon reduced this to N30,000 and presently, a block costs N450,000 or N500,000.
Returns:

HAZONWAO
?????????????????????????????????????????????????? ????
Returns: 5-9% monthly returns on amounts below N1million and 10% monthly returns on N1,000,000 (120%/annum). They have a flexible structure that makes them able to pay you 4 times in a week.

NOSPETCO
The king of high yield investments, Nospetco has delivered returns to investors for the past 4years without failing and in doing so, have acquired some credibility. Nospetco is a middleman in the oil/diesel market and one can see some of their tankers on the streets indicating how big they’ve grown. Furthermore, they’ve also recently taken the big step of registering with NDIC (as some say). Considering their line of business however, one has to wonder why they need limitless cash and what will happen when PHCN starts performing.
Returns: N40,000 monthly on N450,000 which translates to 8.9% monthly or 106.7% per annum along with your initial capital which you could reinvest.

SAPPHIRE FLASH CLUB
Organized by First Inland Bank, the Sapphire Flash Club is a contribution cum network marketing scheme. All you have to do is open a savings account with N1000 and monthly contributions of N500. You then bring in other customers to do same and receive a N50 commission on every customer in your team. To break it down, in four stages you can earn up to N500,000. Simply introduce 10 customers to the bank who in turn introduce 10 customers each (making 100) on to the fourth stage (10,000 customers). Since the bank pays N50 on every member of your team (as long as every member pays the monthly contribution), you will receive over N500,000 monthly! You can start with as many people as you want and monthly earn over N1 million (20 new customers per person), N2.5 million (50 new customers per person) and so on.
Returns: For a 10 member/stage team, you earn N500 for the first 10, N5,000 for the next 100, N50,000 for the following 1,000 and N500,000 for the final 10,000. Monthly text updates are sent but you lose the commission for a month if you don’t pay the monthly contribution. You can withdraw your funds from any branch of the bank using your GSM number as your account number and also monitor your account online using same. After registration, you’ll be given a manual and forms to start your own team. Of course, since this is a bank, your little investment (N7,000 for the whole year) is secure and it offers you the chance to learn something (marketing) and make so much without losing sleep.

SEFTEG
Sefteg claims to be involved in local and foreign shares and diamonds, although as others have pointed out; which foreign shares guarantees you so much? With Sefteg, you subscribe with a minimum of N50,000 which entitles you to N15,000 monthly returns (30%) for two years or N50,000 (100%) every quarter. Requirements include a passport photograph and name of your next of kin who can collect on your behalf incase…
Returns: 30% monthly returns and 360% per annum (monthly collection) or 400% (quarterly collection) although your initial capital expires after the first two years. 5% is paid for referrals and yearly dividends (for really good years) for investments exceeding N300,000.

TREASURELINE
TreasureLine Interlink Ltd also offers a variable returns structure, although not as varied as Silvertrust, depending on the amount invested. The investment packages are as tabled below:
Slots Amount Payable (N) Pay-off (N)
7 --- 14,300 --- 30,000
15 --- 29,500 --- 70,000
21 --- 40,900 --- 100,000
31 --- 59,900 --- 150,000
41 --- 78,900 --- 200,000
63 --- 120,700 --- 310,000
127 --- 243,300 --- 630,000
255 --- 485,500 --- 1,270,000
Treasureline has been going on for some time with proof of people who have collected their returns. They are currently seeking to be registered by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as fund managers.
Returns: Using the N59,900 benchmark gives us N150,000 (250%) in 12 weeks or 1,085% per annum. About 6 months ago, they were actually giving a whooping 410% over a 12 week period!

I dont mean to insult the sensibilities of all those that invest in this dangerous businesses but is'nt it better going to throw dice at any casino, you may even win the jackpot !

This forum is for stock market business and thats why I even bother to open the web page, if anybody wants to take risks, there are ways you can do that even in the stock market.

First get a stock market education, experience and hidsight can do you good. Then start speculating on stocks, buy from a registered broker and sell when you have made some profits. Some guys involved in this stock trades make millions every week and its difficult for them to lose outright, this is because even if your stock has not appreciated in value, you still own the stock and will sell when it rises,

A Nigerian newspaper, stockswatch did a good job in its last week edition on these high risk investments. You can ask your vendor for a copy.

Finally money is hard to come by, be careful with yours.

I write for a youth business magazine called INSPIRE. Please note that i'm not advocating for these products but having heard and experienced them for quite a while now, i decided to do some research for our (INSPIRE) readers so that they'll be able to make intelligent decisions. Of cos, they're all crazy investments but the fact remains that people are making money from them and as long as this is so, people will continue to put money into them so the least we can do is to give them the information they require.

I too have read/heard a lot about these investment vehicles.......my thoughts are that do not put money there that you can't afford to loose.

A friend of mine invested about N250k in one and at the end of 2 months received a cheque for N1m !.....i had to see it to believe it and it cashed out !

They are indeed very high risk and not for the faint hearted.

This does not make sense to me at all. Unless the companies involved tell us what goldmine they are investing the money in, I will remain highly skeptical about these schemes. The 1990 years appear to be unfolding again before our very eyes and people seem to have forgotten all about those years of the locust. Of course, Umanah Umanah and others like him were paying 'customers' interest and their deposits. Do it for a few customers for words to go round and people will fall over themselves to 'invest' with you. But is this sustainable? This is the question we should ask ourselves. The whole scheme appears to feed on greed, at least from the way I look at it.
