I think the company has sound fundamentals and unofficially Nigeria's best bank, the price is cheap so I will buy a few.

"unofficially the best bank" ?....really ? Anyway I too will buy; fundamentals are ok and I know of their well documented ability to drive their share price up !

I concur with others that this is arguably the strongest bank in the country right now. I plan to buy a few thousands too. The share prices may not rise sharply in the short run but it is a safe investment. I will be in this for the long term

Default First Bank shares/Help

hello all,

I bought some first bank shares through transfer when it was a bit high to get the 1 for 1 bonus. At the moment i have not received my cert. though am almost certain it was done since the registrars' sent me mail saying my e-bonus has been sent to my account but till date it has not reflected in my account. The original transfered shares nor the e-bonus shares. Please what would you suggest i do?

Secondly I registered/subscribed with CSCS to be able to view my account, but since i fulfilled all obligations, till date my account has not been activated. Neither have i been sent my password. Does anyone know what is really going on. I had called there office and the said thery were working on their system, please how long does this take?

Would really appreciate some response. Thanks

Default Stockbrokers, Registrars

Catherine: If you have a stockbroker, get in touch with him/her/them. If not, you'd need to write to the Registrars (I think it's First Bank Registrars, not sure), and/or call them per what to do.

The question to catherin is which stock brokin firm bought the first bank for you.
since you bought from secondary market, that means you bought through a house.

You have to go to the house, CSCS issue free report every month, thee you will see you holdings for the month end.

So i will advice you to do that, since you have been recieving letter from first regisrar, that means you have an acct with them.

just talk to your broker.

thanks

Catherine, I think it should be a little mix up that will get sorted out between your broker, cscs and you.

Hi Catherine,

Since everybody has answered you first question I will go straight to the second.

Have you paid the 2,500 naira fee or did you just register on the net?

If you have not paid, you will need to get someone there or go there yourself.

It takes two days, as the paper work goes to thier accounting section and then get passed to the lady who activates the account.

If you do go there, please be very patient, my experience is that most of the guys you will deal with have a short fuse.

Default Dangote Dividends

Hi All,

I'm outside the shores of Nigeria and my questions are similar to Catherine's. I bought the Dangote Sugars IPO and I recently learnt that theyu have issued about 2 to 3 dividends already. I inquired from my broker and he says that he hasn't got my dividends yet. What do I do since there is a deadline within which you should cash the dividend?

Secondly, my broker has given me my CSCS number, does it mean that I now have an account with CSCS and I can now register online without having to pay any fees? I really want to monitor my investments closely.

Is there a way having my dividends automatically paid into my bank account or cscs account??

Thanks.

You only need one thing, get closer to yr broker either personally or electronically. like you can arrange to get yr dividends into yr account but for now its only in some banks like FBN.

compengr...

To the best of my knowledge, Dangote has only sent one dividend although we are expecting asecond soon.

you have to pay some money to access your CSCS account online to monitor your holdings.

if i may ask why do you use your broker's address to recieve your dividends? dont you have relatives that have post office boxes?

you dividend scan be paid into your bank account if you stated your account no and bank in the offer prospectus form. butcurrently i know that FBN, Intercontinental bank, GTBank pay dividend into your account if you ask them to.

and ofcourse get close to your broker just as C Kenneths says... call him everyday if you have to, he'll know you are not to be messed with. its your money men... guard it jealously!

Just to check if anybody as been having as much fun as I have with the online application for the rights issue/PO

I did not get my circular and I decided to use the online application, First it generates multiple transaction ids and the all the branches I have been to in lagos don't even no you can do it online, as if that was not bad enough, I went to the registrar's office and there I was when a member of staff was telling a customer that there is no facility on the net to deal with right issues.

I have called the helpline and they are just as clueless.

They will only start issuing duplicate on the 11th of June. When I explained to the head of admin where they issue duplicates about my situation and that I had just week to return to base, I was advised to abandon the online transaction and fill a new form with them and pay via banker's draft. So what is the benefit of www.naijabigoffer.com. I will be sending aletter of complain to FBN.
