Personally I do not know of any IPO that will be coming to the market now. I will advice that you do not just jump at any IPO (this could be very risky).

For investment in IPOs, delegent analysis (about the company) with fact and figure is a must (seeking professional advice is not out of place). If there are no valuable figures and track records of the company upon which analysis can be based (as with the case with Transcorp), I will advice that you stay clear (adverts on the media could be very deceptive - remember the case with Transcorp adverts - just within 7 months, the present CEO is the third, this is definitely not good for a mega coporation like Transcorp).

Please this comment about Transcorp is personal.

Yeah but Omoregie is still correct, the mere fact that its obajana or even its owened by Dangote doesnt authomatically make an offer a good one.

Research, thats all you need.

Default Tinapa IPO

Hi Kaymoney,

From articles I've read, the MD/CEO of Tinapa says that Tinapa Business Resort Ltd will come to the market in early 2008.

http://www.independentngonline.com/?c=78&a=23611

If that's changed or you've heard different, please share...

all the decisions we took in the past are based on hearsay, the media and maybe some tech analysis. so i would say we all risked our necks on transcorp that doesnt mean all of them will turn out like Transcorp.

Omoregie is also right but that doesnt mean that we should stop investing and taking risks... calculated risks.

Default Dangote Flour

Sometime last month someone mentioned that Dangote Flour will hit the market with an IPO this month, possibly, the second week. What is the current situation on this?

My stock broker mentioned International Energy Insurance (http://www.ieinsuranceco.com/) coming in at about 70 Kobo. All the information I have is on their website. Someone may be interested in doing some further digging.

International Energy Insurance just concluded their private placement @ 70k.

They will most likely come to the market @N1.50 within +/- 2 months. I bought through the private placement on the last day !

FCMB will come to the market soon via a P.O. ......this is a good time to buy before they start pumping up the price !

i checked the website of international energy insurance,

the private placement closed in march.

However, they mentioned on the site that no application has been made to securities and exchange commision and nigeria stock exchange.

The meaning is that it will take longer than you imagine before it will be listed for daily trading.

I must say that 70k is realy a cheap price for such company.

International Energy Insurance is not be be confused for

Bank of Industry and Insurance.

Bank of Indutry is a government owned bank (40% CBN & 60% Ministry of Finance) - so this is a case of PRIVATIZATION, I hope through Public Offer or Private Placement. Like was done for NAHCO.

See link for more, but I have not been able to find any more useful information
http://allafrica.com/stories/200705240226.html

Also see BPE web site for a summary of the Bank.

If its out, this is a good buy- always good to buy from the government.
