Default Manufacturing Companies 'POTENTIAL GOLDMINES'

Gents,
So much talk about manufacturing companies tapping into the resources of banks as a result of recapitilisation. I think it's high time we start researching and analysing potential manufacturing companies that we can buy into before they start skyrocketing.Suggestions and analysis on this issue are highly welcomed from the most enlightened forum in the world.

Default Hi Tech and IT is it.

Manufacturing will be strong soon if there is stable electricity and other indices are stable. Top on my list of potentials is IT companies. They should be researched but it would be advisable to get into those which some banks have interest or relationships with. For instance which IT company manages Zenith Bank network and stuff like that. Old IT companies like Linkserve also may be good to get into now (from a speculation point of view). I do not know of any quoted company yet but I will look more closely.

Sorry Oseitutu, but when we refer to manufacturing companies here, we tend to think of firms that produce tangible goods, cadbury, pz, unilever, coca cola, enamelwares, ngc, glaxo et al.

I tend to see IT companies like service delivery outfits and not manufacturing concerns, i might be wrong in which case the house can correct me.

But its still good to analyse and research these firms, who knows where the next NASCON will spring from.

I stand corrected. I was only looking at the kind of support an emerging market will need in the future: POS Machines, computers, scanners etc. Not to say the companies you stated are not prime ones, it is just that they are still in obscurity when compared to the big banks. Until they start forming alliances with these financial institutions at home or overseas, they are unlikely to harness the full potential of the Nigerian economy.Liquidity is a key issue here.

Interested in what I was saying? Now Ovia has bought Cellcom. I do not know who they are but if you read this article from Proshare, you will understand where I am coming from.

Oseitutu,
I quite agree with you concerning the need for a stable electricity for the manufacturing firms to grow. Also another important point you mentioned which is the need to find out more about IT firms most banks are patronising. Researching about this IT firms will really go a long way in enhancing one to know where to put ones money. Please do you have any information about NCR (NIGERIA) PLC? Its really a good news that Ovia bought Cellcom too but i am looking forward to when some of this companies like Cellcom,MTN,GLOBACOM,CELTEL etc will be quoted on our stock exchange too.

Kaymoney, I started a thread about NCR a few days ago but nobody seems to be interested. See my thread here
