Default Your Projection For 2008 Fy

Hi guys, this forum appears dull lately. Can we bring some life to it?

Can we all bare our opinion as to the stock that will come up with SURPRISING rewards come 2008. You wish to give your reason. This way, we are able to finetune our individual thinkings and see how rational we might have been in taking our investment decisions. It is YOUR own opinion, and it will not appear as if you are foisting it upon anyone. We want to be genuinely convinced of our own opinion and rationality in our projections. For example, what reasons informed your choosing to add a part stock to your portfolio and why?

I believe we would have succeeded in sharing with folks here as many are more informed than others.

And for those who have benefitted from the analysis or so of anyone, nothing stops you from dropping a line mentioning this. It helps to encourage our self-sacrificing analysts among us.

Over to YOU

i pick sterling bank to do very well next year, may be 100-150% of it present price this time next year, i will pick internatinal breweries too, the technicl suspension as a result of their PO can lift trade, fidelity can give 100% of it current price by 1st quater nxt year, equity assurance can still hit N3.5 before the end of november, someone mentioned crusder, dont forget japaul, the thing is the year is still very much alive and we can still make good pay on our investment, so while you are thinking nxt year, also remember that we still got 3months left in this year.

Hmm stocks for 2008?
I think I will go with Dunlop, the price looks good for purchase now!
Resons for choosing Dunlop below:

A.The funds raised through hybrid offer will help offset short term loans and improve working capital.

B. The All steel radial truck tyres(ASRT) which the company took loans for will fully debut first Q1 2008, they also plan to export this to West African countries.

C. Aquisition of Pamol has put the company in the right position to get raw materials.(Rubber) also no substitute for tyres.

D. Michellin has left Nigeria so Dunlop the only major manufacturer in the country.

F. From last offer prospectus company will go back to profitability FY 2008,dividend proposed(we all know what that will do to the price)

If you have money please do not miss this chance to create wealth!!, all things been equal this time next year Dunlop should be around N10.

For me i also want to go with dunlop to make about 150 - 200 percent growth in share price by the end of the 1Q in 2008, all because of the reasons BBLQK69 cited.

Should Japaul refrain from declaring bonus for existing shareholders after the PO the company would also pass for a good buy.

For those that like to experiment, international breweries is a stock to buy for medium and long term.

Constain W.A, Ikeja Hotel, C&I Leasing and NAHCO will all post good returns for their shareholders in the first quater of next year.

Not forgetting Dangflour to record 70 - 100% in price appreciation.

I think we should be careful with this.

Do you have the last prospectus of Dunlop in electronic form? If you do, please attach it here so we can do quantitative analysis too. If not, do u know where we can get the Profil & Loss account and the balance sheet for Dunlop?

This sounds too much like Livestock Feeds. They collected money from investors to pay debt and then sold assets to boost profit...See their results now..

Why did Michelin stop production in Nigeria? If tyre manufacturing is that profitable, then Michelin would not have left. As long as there's an influx of smuggled (new and used tyres) into the country, I personally do not like the prospect of any tyre manufaturer. I hope the case of tyre manufactrures will not turn out to be like the textile mills that are closing down one after the other

Unfortunately I do not have an e-copy of the prospectus, the best way to get the P and L account or balance sheet is from the prospectus.
In my opinion this sounds more like Wapco and not Livestock feeds!!
We all know what happened to Wapco abi?

Default Will there be "seasonal low activity" break in 2007?

Around this time of the year, from November to December, there is usually a drop in the Nigerian Stock Exchange. A lot of my stock investment friends also believe this. Some go to the extent of selling their shares around end October and go back buying around mid to end December. Those that want to put new money wait till end December.

However, it looks like things are changing. The market has been bullish this time around. It looks like this seasonal low activity break may not occur this year or never again. People no dey sell shares to buy gifts, do 'owambe' parties again o. Even POs/PPs are even occuring at this period (PHB, FCMB, PHB, Zenith, Diamond, AIICO). Investing tactics have to change if this break is now ruled out in NSE.

Questions:
1. Is it because more are aware of this and have taken defensive measures?
OR
2. Do you think the seasonal low activity break will still occur in 2007?

Your comments please.

As you may know the trend of economic condition have changed cos of establishment of PFA, mutual trust, emergence of so many fund mangers this year with various kind of portofolio and individual investor. And most of them focused and pumping their fund to the capital Market this festive season.

How ever, price is going in proportion with the demand and supply of the market.

The demand of the above said investment institutions will be stable this season. So the activities of the market will be remain bullish this time around.

For 2008 I will say the following should post good returns to investors
Japaul, FCMB, MBENEFIT, INTENEGINS. Based on a mix of fundamentals, potentials and aggressiveness
