Go through Skye Bank or if you are in doubt PM me and I'll give you the contact info of someone who works in CHAMS she has the forms and you could submit through her as well.

This is really crazy. I sent an email to a contact at UBA Global Markets. Here is the response i got back from them below. Are they playing pranks or what. I will send an email to my Skyebank contact and see if i can buy the offer through them.

From UBA

Many thanks for your mail. Am afraid the Chams private placement closed same day it opened. As a matter of fact, private placements (not public offer), closes the moment the lead issuers receive enough application cum funds to cover the targeted amount sought; which in the case of Chams was same day it opened (07-01-2007). The lead issuer (UBA Global markets) has rendered returns.

The offer has not closed but the units are dwindling. Since it is a PP, they don't wnat to collect applications above the issued shares. Each of teh issuing houses have a percentage allotted to them which they will not exist. UBA seems to be under a lot of pressure. Try Fidelity and SkyeBank. They will likely be able to accommodate you. Note however that delay is DANGEROUS.

@Dr. Awo,

You will need to make out time to read through the thread before making enquiries because if you had done that, you would have realised that the prospectus is on the first page of this thread, and all your queries would have been addressed somewhere along this thread. Hey Guys,

If one wants to buy most of these PP can one go through a stock broking firm in other to get it or would we have to go directly through the issuers. What are the chances that one will get if he goes through his stock broker?

Post chams pp

hi guys , my advice for all of u is to by pass this issuing houses and send your forms and drafts straight to the top mananagement!!! I am in contact with them and u have between now and jan 20. any date above that i cant guarantee u. the issuing houses are under pressure and may not accept yours. Some are playing pranks like uba global markets. Even if u live in lagos or anywhere else mail by courier to: Attn Mr Idowu logile, company ad. Delay is dangerous as someone said and in this case chams is a goldmine and does not happen often!!!

Ogo,

Its unlikely that u'd get a PP thru ur broker except ofcourse they r d issuin house.

Its beta to go directly to d issuin house to be part of a PP.

You are right, but in the case of Chams, a very profitable company, the issuing house and the banks tell us that it is eithoer over subscribed or there are no forms.

The best thing to do is to heed the advise of Andico26.

I called UBA GM today and I was told the offer was still open. However, they were only attending directly to large clients i.e. clients who were interested in 400,000 units and above. Anything lower than that had to go through the brokers.
However, seeing how everyone was rushing for the few units being offered, I decided to opt out. I'm so sure that most people's monies would be returned. Instead, I've purchased AIICO. I hope I have goodluck with the allotment.

As adviced in the earlier posts go to other issuing houses. Go to Skye for example.

You will be able to get what you want. They are fast running out so if you leave it late you will get nothing. I understand they still have some but once it runs out that is it.

I just ask them in skye bank abeokuta branch and they told me that they knew nothing about it.
who knows where i can get it as it was said in the prospectus that the cheque needs to be drawn on bank in one's locality.
I banked with GTB and I can only draw it on Skye, Uba or fidelity in Abeokuta. Worst still there is no branch of Fidelity in Abeokuta and as many have rightly said there is a lot of pressure on Uba.
Anyone with a better info?
