Just read from a sister site that the Starcomms offer will be a public offer and not a private placement. The guy seems very sure of his source as he said it was from someone very high up in IBTC and Starcomms.

Thats gonna be another round of massive over suscription in the pipeline. If one shd buy it has 2 be well spread to ensure a good allotment.

Newton how do we go about the spreading becos i am sure this one will be over subcribed more than the dangote flour. But can these company find a way of doing this to avoid this disheartening oversub wahala. i suggest first come first served basis should be used or better still make it a max of 100k units for each offer they know will be oversubbed. guys what do u think?

U guys should not b fooled by any one. If u have a top guy on the inside, let him know that u are interested in whatever they are doing now "even if they didn't use the word pp". Invest in what they are doing b4 the public offer comes out. B warned, u must b a big investor b4 u can participate. This is just an advice, u can read between the lines.

The upcoming Starcomms offer being handled by Chapel Hill and IBTC. As per the email below, the book making exercise has begun and the price range is between N9.36 and N11.26. Recommendations are that applications should come in on the high end of this range to guarantee allotment.

Starcomms PP is on its way out. Will be out by Mon Nxt wk. Houses will bid and will be allocated based on their bid price. Will now sell their allotment to clients/interested parties. I have never seen this one before but that way full subscription is assured as if it wasn't anyway. Bid price is between N9 - N14 so be prepared for at least N0.5 - N1 premium when buying. I also hear min units is 250k. Haven't yet seen the prospectus to know the number of shares been offered and timing for listing. If anyone has plese mega upload it. Would really like to know what is giving them the guts to jack up the price so much in a PP

Starcomms is coming out but prospective investors are being sought already. Minimum amount is 20 million and the investor would be notified of their allocations soon before the offer is out

Info I got says price is between NGN11.50 and NGN12.10. Looks like anyone who's really interested must buy at a premium. I'll try and see if I can get a block for interested people in the house a good premium price. At least nothing more than NGN12 or NGN12.10. The offer summary is out but the memo may be out on monday.

Just got off the phone with a friend (works @ brokerage firm) that attended a presentation given by Starcomms and he says there are supposed to be 2 offers:

a) one for institutional investors/brokerage houses where they will submit a bid (is this the one that closes on the 11th of April as stated in the doc Absolut posted?)
b) a formal IPO to retail investors that will be based on the weighted average price used for allocation in (a). This is supposed to come after (a) is concluded.

Anyone heard about a formal IPO for retail investors?
