well the placement is 13 naira and i see no reason why AFRINVEST should be selling it for 15 naira through thier fund whatever. it is not worth it.

Default starcom

JB7,
I have no news yet on starcoms allotment, in fact will be happy to know the outcome.
Honestly I have personally lost interest in this whole starcoms thing due to the way and manner it has been handled since the news broke about the PP.
My guess is:
Its either that starcoms is too good to be executed as other normal PP's or that the hype is too much and something may be fishy.
I will keep my fingers crossed and waith for more info.
Jeks.

Default allotments for starcomm

allotments has been completed, basically it seems allotments were made 50% accross board ie from IBTC and Chapel hill.......those that got from afriinvest and others who would have been alloted by these two will slash their allotments accordingly.........l hear a new startegic investor has taken up 25% of the company and wants listing in both LSE and NSE still hush hush but l believe we will get clearer as the day goes by

i just spoke to my very reliable contact in afrinvest. Was informed i got my full allotment for starcomms though i paid 15 naira for it. she also confirmed that shares would be listed within the next 6 weeks baring unforseen circumstances.

Jeks,

Source of information = lead issuing house /advicer, you see IBTC and Chapel Hill were the lead on this deal and everyother person put in a bid (the Afriinvest and Co, with other High Volume Investors) and allotments were concluded on Friday by the two lead firms and mails/letter sent to successful bidders, l put in a bid and have been adviced accordingly.

On the buy in by the foreign firm, info form another player, this explains the slash to 50%, this is why l believe that all others will be affected unless you went for min units!!.........listing is due in a short while once l have the info l will surely pass on to the forum

Default Starcoms

Japo,
Thanks for your response.
My worry is the facts that we have heard many times that these companies will list soon after concluding the PP but it doesn’t happen many months down the line.

Jeks

you are right and your fears are in place, l believe these dudes are serious as they have been very professional in their approach to this particular PP and this method is a 1st in naija.

In two weeks or less l believe l should have concrete info on list time frame because they try as much as they can to update investors on their time table.

Starcomms still available at Afrinvest for those interested.

Afrinvest charged 15.00 to cover the administrative fees and the commission to be paid when shares are transfered to your name at listing

And what can you say about the 24 months exit time for Afrivest fund investors suppose they get listed in six weeks from today.

You should be able to exit once listed.
