The stock gained 4.5% today. The stock price is now over N26.00 and it is moving towards N30.00. Nice ride for investors who bought Conoil for less than N20.00. |

I dont know if u bought d stock @ < N20. The last time i sought d opinion of d house about d stock when it was selling around N20, d general consesus was dat conoil was too risky 2 buy. Thank God i bought some, if not i wil b regreting my action by now. Dancing!

enjoy your dance, you have aways make your own decision after weighing the risk. I guess the house did not say you should not buy.

What was the basis for the reasons behind the risk-rating that you were given? Was it based on fundamentals? Or was it just technical? Always ask the reasons behind the ratings, and always weigh them against your own findings. This way you garner experience at a quicker rate. |

I bought more of Conoil at N16.00, FBN at N8.00, UBA at 2.00, Access bank at N3.50, Oando at N15.00, Redstar at N2.20, Unilever at N8.00 and Nigerian breweries at N45.00 during the capital market meltdown

Some investors are mainly concerned with dividend income and dividend yield, they will always prefer the stock prices of good companies to go down. |

For a seasoned veteran investor like you, it sometimes becomes difficult for you not to become sentimental if you think of all the wealth some particular stocks have amassed for you hence it will be difficult for you to see all is not well with oil marketing companies |

We have more than enough examples of good company that the prices went down, even though they gave a good performance. Some people are good at capitalizing on the market sentiment. What happened to Unilever that made the price to fall to N8.00 during the melt down, that same stock is now selling for over N30.00. I disagree with you that all is not well with oil marketing companies, except we have gotten another alternative for petrol, kerosene, diesel etc in the country. |
