I dont think any company would like to pay a dime on funds they did not utilize, though your money seem to be tied down in their hands for the period when you subscribed till the offer closes and when they see their stock been over-subscribed.

for me o, since they did not trade/transact with your money to get interest, they, definitely, wont pay you any interest or what do you think?

Some coys have paid interest on returned money in similar circumstances,
though there is no rule they says they ought to refund with interest. I think it boils down to the companies 'good will' basically. They cant be held to it.

Gurus, l don't have any stock in the oil sector and l am thinking of acquiring some on a long term basis. Eterna Oil looks attractive to me.

What do you guys feel and when is the best time to join the train?

Are you saying there are no propspect for this coy going forward? I thought the presence of Fola Adeola should affect the fortunes of Eterna Oil? the guy did really well with GTB. Positive 1st quarter results will push up the prices.

Don't you think joining prior to the closure of register on May 28 and benefitting from the bonus and keeping on a long term basis will be a good strategy?

I feel joining at the right price between now and the 28 May and benefitting from the 20% units mark up by virtue of the bonus should cushion for any risk on fluctuations at least on a long term basis.

Guys, analyse this stock please. I contemplated joining while it was trading at N17 but dumped the idea. see where l dey today.

I dont think u made a mistake not buying at 17naira, there is more to a coys performance than the 'chairman'. I know of a few people who bought at 17 and have been trying for close to 2months to offload and no one will touch it. From all indications it doesnt seem they will release a good result come end of May. etherna oil happens to be on my 'wishlist' as well but i havent been able to justify putting money there just yet so i'm waiting on the sideline for their result.

Chidianosike, Eterna Oil result is out and they have declared a loss but are giving bonus of 1 in 5 and register closes on 28 May. the tone of your earlier response shows you are not aware of this.

In line with this info, what do you feel on my earlier proposition?

if you realy want to partake from the Bonus issue, you can go ahead. but i am waiting to see & analysis thier first Quater result before i make my moves. that will enable me ascertain whether they have used the money from the right issue of last year properly. CHEERS

Yea ur right, i was'nt aware. i saw it later yesterday evening on proshareng.com .My own strategy which may vary from yours would be to buy after the price is marked down for d bonus. i would try to enter at low enough a price to be able to justify it (to myself). There is alot of value as it is now with some banking stocks. it would have to make a hell lot of sense to me to put my money elsewhere at the moment and etherna is'nt showing me reason to at the moment.
i think the stock is over priced. i wont want to enter now. it lost maximum points on wednesday inspite of this bonus issue. lets see what todays trading shows. My strategy would be to enter after the price has been marked down for the bonus issue and hopefully it sheds more weight. i'm all for cheap bargains in this on going 'AUTUM SALE' in the NSE. For all u know..there could be a 20% discount or more on etherna. thats another motivation to wait.

Thanks Chidianosike. I learnt via Bluemoney that Eterna did a rights issue last year. Could you please tell me the price at which it was offered and when exactly it was offered last year. I need the info to make a final decision please
