SEC Probes 6 Firms Over Shady Dealings
Dear isaac,

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has begun investigations into the activities of six companies over allegations of price manipulation and other sharp practices aimed at ripping-off investors.

The Commission, in a statement on Thursday signed by Lanre Oloyi of its corporate affairs department, gave the names as
1. African Petroleum Plc (AP);
2. Big Treat Plc;
3. Afroil Plc
4. First Aluminum Plc;
5. Capital Oil Plc; and
6. IPWA Plc.

SEC vowed to deal decisively with any operator found culpable of price manipulation or insider dealing.

It reminded all operators that insider dealing was a criminal offence in the capital market and urged them to always operate within the confines of the rules to ensure transparency and integrity of the market.

Newton, it's in the papers and television! SEC is investigating Big treat, AP...I can't remember the other stocks now for alleged share price manupulation. I can't readly give you the link now but when I do I'll pass it on. I believe many of the members are aware of this development.

Newton, If you you have any info for SEC on why transcorp should be investigated kindly send it across instead of making an allegation. It is dangerous.

I do not think the current probe into Big Treat activities will affect them. Looking close at the products they offer, I think it will be a good buy.

i thinks this the time to pick up this companies that are under investigation because they will rise again.

(personal opinion) I think it is time to drop Capoil and Afrooil if you have made 100% gain and re-enter after they fall because both are ikely to fall. I am not sure big treat would fall so much.

I believe they will fall if indeed the allegations are true and they will reamin down for a long while. On the other side if the allegation are found not to be true, the jolly ride will continue.

This is the time to sell and wait for the drop in price for a buy when things have bottomed out, problems sorted out, and the stocks begin to rise. Remember market psychology.

Not to belabor your points guys we need to be on point .
Has anyone found any info on these pps I am interested i have started liquidating some of my low performing mutual funds here and saving my pennies, i do not wanna miss any of these pps, thats of cuz if I can help it.
