Valueline Securities Diversifies Operations, Floats N6b Private Placement
( 22.02.08 ) Source: The Guardian As stockbroking firms jostle to meet the N6 billion recapitalisation mark in the capital market, indications that some of them have met and surpassed it emerged midweek in Lagos. Besides, some of the stockbrokers are even making moves to go into other areas of the capital market and even money market to enhance their positions and consolidate further. For instance, Valueline Securities and Investments Limited, which capital base currently stands at N1.8 billion, has floated a N6 billion private placement to enhance its operations and diversification programme. The company, according to its Managing Director, Mr. Sam Enyinnaya is also warming up for listing on the Nigerian Stock Exchange, and will also increase its capital to N15 billion to enable it carry out micro-finance business, bureau de change business, telecommunications business, among others. Enyinnaya said: "Our capital base is now N1.8 billion and we are targeting N15 billion. We are selling three billion shares through private placement at N1.70 per share to raise about N6 billion. Our authorised share capital is now N4 billion and it is being processed to increase to N15 billion, and our paid-up capital would be N14 billion. He continued, "the essence of increasing our capital base is to enable us have enough capacity to carry on with the business for which we have divide ideas and hey include telecommunications outfits, microfinance, bureau de change, margin trade financing for our numerous customers, stockbroking, issuing houses and underwriting business. "We needed up to N20 billion to do all these business and we will get there before the year runs out." The company's private placement, according to Enyinnaya, would be packaged by Afribank capital markets as the issuing house, and its being aided by investment agencies like Premium Securities, Oceanic Bank, Fidelity Bank, Unex Securities, AIL Securities among others. On the proposed listing of the company, he said: "A restructured Valueline outfit under a new name would be listed by introduction before the year runs out, precisely before the end of this quarter. We will set up a microfinance bank and have a foreign participation in telecommunications business." The structure was arranged by a firm of consultants from Canada and Israel |

This is my first post on this forum.U guys have been doing a great job here. Pls, can someone graciously educate me. i.How profitable is this valueline private placement likely going to be. ii.What is the minimum no of units that can be purchased. iii.How soon will the company be Listed on the NSE. I am planing to throw some cash on it but I don't know much about the fundamentals of the company. ![]() |

Hi all.
Thanks for your reply. I have noted the Abj address of Valueline Securities and would pay them a visit soonest. However, I know the prospectus may not be there yet (Abj usually lags behind Lag). So if anyone lays hand on it should kindly post it or the important details (price, minimum unit, etc) to the forum. Thanks and on the look out Regards |
