It’s all a corporate finance deal;
AA needed to pay off a long term core foreign investor. (Who did not want to leave, so i'm sure they paid premium) Universal provided the cash / buy out option to help pay off the boys AA will do a PP to Buy Back from Universal, and everyone is happy. But interestingly AA has more fixed assets than the Universal; it’s the union bank of insurance. There is a PP coming for sure. |

It seems you know a lot about both companies. Given a choice, will you put your money in AA or Universal Insurance? If yes, how much will you buy the PP? Universal Insurance is about N3 with billions of shares outstanding. For AA, their might be billions too. From indications, it might be going for about N2.50 for the PP. Is this daylight robbery considering that Universal Insurance will still own more than 50% at the end of this process? |

if AA is the union bank of the insurance industry like someone earlier said, why were they not able to meet the recapitalization deadline ?.
there seems to be a confusion about who wants to do this PP is it universal insurance that bought AA 100% or is it AA that has been bought over ? there is also a problem with the proposed #2 price. if it is universal insurance that is selling this PP and AA will not be a separate entity (which i believe will happen), how far up will the price go considering the fact that universal insurance is carrying the load of over bloated shares in issue. if this happens, share reconstruction is imminent. the proposed #2 price is too much. those that bought insurance PP before knows what i am saying is true. |

Are you indirectly saying that Universal Insurance (without African Alliance) is worth just 56K, since it closed @ N3.06 today? ![]()

AfricanAlliance is purely into life business and I am wondering if they are worth N2 to N2.50 (especially Private Placement). What do you think African Alliance is worth? Though we don't know how many shares will be listed on the company. |

AA doing a PP for #2 is overpriced. we all remember how much we bought the PP of mutual benefit, staco and even the right issues of guinea and nem insurance. now a company that could not even meet the recapitalization deadline wants to sell their PP for #2 because they were bought over by a company that meet the deadline ? something is wrong somewhere.
i am only willing to pay #1 maximum for this PP under the condition that AA is listed separately from universal insurance with thier overbloated number of shares in issue that is crying & begging for share reconstruction. if it will not be listed separately from universal insurance then the PP should sell for 50kobo becuase i know how much i paid for others within thesame industry. |

AA Private Placements is for real. However, it is still in the pipeline as there are no forms or private placement memorandum printed yet to this effect. The existing window for the offer is directly from the key officers of the company.
If you have access to inner link In Universal Insurance or AA you may get a good chunk on a preferential allotment basis. The risk to this transaction for now is that it's not yet structured. You can also go into offer and cceptance contract with a reputable broker to hedge against the risk. But i think its a good deal if you are comfortable with the person you are dealing with. AA is to be listed from a reliable source in two months time. Private placement forms will be out soonest but will likely be oversubscibed. |

Thanks for your comments above. It is going for a minimum of N2 (the PP), how well do you think it will do when listed? How much do you think it will be listed? If you can guide on these answers, it will be useful. Remember that Universal is trading at less than N3 today. Is universal Insurance going to list African Alliance at more than N3? I browsed through AA website and got a brief financial summary: home.gif |

thank you very much for this info. but before we buy any PP here we read through the prospectus for critical analysis of the financials so as to ascertain the viability of the company. I am very critical of this company and thier proposed PP price so if you can upload the prospectus for us to see & do the analysis then maybe we will give this one a pass mark. once again THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
