Afrinvest WA Ltd PP

Friends, I was just informed of a PP by Afrinvest WA Ltd. I have requested for the usual docs such as the memo (prospectus) and application forms, and will share once I get me hands on them.

I expect this to be a good offer depending of course on the offer price and their financial fundamentals.

This company is in the class of BGL.

Was this the same company UBA acquired a majority interest in?

BusinessDay... the voice of business - UBA continues acquires major stake in Afrinvest

this company has UBA as a major shareholder and the name has been changed. i wonder what they are doing PP for.

This is not the same firm that UBA bought into. UBA bought into Afrinvest Ltd based in the UK. There was a relationship btw SecTrust and Afrinvest Ltd Uk that culminated in the change of name from SecTrust to Afrinvest WA. But the gist is that the UBA deal involved only the UK arm and not the african arm. If you notice, the UK arm has changed their name to UBA capital (Europe) ltd while these guys are still retaining the Afrinvest name.
Wanaj0 should be able to give us more details on this one since he's a major client with Afrinvest.
This will be a good one to look into bcos they are one fo the major investment frims in the country.

I also use them, I heard there might be one like 2 weeks ago, but I do not know when....I need to call my account officer.

I doubt if there's any document or anything remotely close to that for this PP....my guy only told me when i was asking for PPs Afrivest was packaging that there might be one from them (Afrinvest). I do not think the PP (if there's eventually one) is close to happening yet. I tried calling him today, but could not get through, but I'll call again tomorrow.

SECTRUST merged with AFRINVEST UK LTD some years ago. This made SECTRUST to change its name to AFRINVEST (WA) LTD. Kragha Moses use to be the Chairman with Obaseki as the MD.

Sometimes last year, UBA acquire AFRINVEST UK. AFRINVEST (WA) LTD is still in existence and has no link with UBA.

AFRINVEST is planning a PP. GTB will be the issuing house. A list of interested customer was concerned. Don't know the basis but the account officers contacted their clients.

An Expression of Interest/Teaser Document was produced with 1st of April as the deadline for the expression of interest!!!! Don't think they sent an electronic copy. However the hard copy was sent to those in their list. Yet to receive the document but saw the document. Quite scanty. Not a propectus.

Right now, they are only collecting interest as per how much people are willing to invest. Plan is to raise N10bn or thereabout.

This is not being handled by the account officers so they may not be able to help. Best bet is their investment banking group. That's the same group that handled the MTN offer.
