Multi-Trex to raise N6bn in fresh private equity
Multi-Trex Investments, one of Nigeria’s leading cocoa processing and export oriented companies, is set to raise N6billion in fresh equity from private investors to profit from international market demand for cocoa butter. This new capital injection, Business Day learnt, will increase the company’s foreign exchange input to the country’s overall forex earnings as well as enable it go downstream into the manufacturing and marketing of such fast moving cocoa based consumer products like beverage drinks, chocolate and bakery products. Currently, the cocoa industry is growing, the capacity is growing and the attention of the government in the industry is also growing. When media men in Lagos were conducted round the company’s factory last Tuesday in Warewa Village, along Lagos-Ibadan expressway, Yusuf Isiaka, managing director, disclosed that the company targets 60,000 metric tonnes of cocoa beans processing capacity from the current 10,000 metric tonnes of cocoa beans processing capacity per annum. This target processing capacity (60,000metric tonnes per annum) will make Multi-Trex become the first cocoa processing company in West Africa to have its processing capacity per annum raised to such level The factory, sitting on a five-hectare parcel of land, was officially commissioned in February 2006. Multi-Trex investments limited, a private limited liability company incorporated in 1999, commenced operation in 2001. The ultramodern cocoa processing plant, with an installed processing capacity of 10,000 metric tonnes of cocoa beans per annum, currently processes cocoa beans into cocoa liquor, cocoa butter and cocoa cake, all for the export market. As part of the companies strategies to reach the target top in the industry, for the last four to six months, it has employed the services of Research Marketing Services (RMS) for its research which involves name search, packaging and distribution and channel marketing. - BusinessDay

The launching of the commencement of the PP is coming up on Friday 30th May on their premises. The PP memorandum is not out as at this moment but I'm confident it should be out next week. In the invitation letter I got from Skye to attend the launching, the unit price was stated to be N3.00. However, the minimum units was not included. I will scan the content of the letter and post here tomo. Also, i will confirm the minimum units from the Skye guy and get back tomo. Also, I will try to see if I can send somebody to attend the launching on my behalf on Friday. |
