Hi Whatsup,
For the IGI PP , you may need to go to thier head office or send someone there, it is not posted anywhere. My undertsanding is that the PP for red star happened three months ago. Infact I heard about it from one of thier AGMs today. Maybe we wll keep our ears out for the next good one. |

Helle there,
does anybody know if the IGI pp is definately no longer accepting deposits, and if so what is the minimum investment. Secondly is the ASo saving definately "closed" Thanks people, lets cooperate and grow together |

Well, it's probably best to ask a stockbroker in the know, or to ask at the IGI office.
At this location you can contact IGI agents by email. IGI Branches can be found here It's quite strange there's no direct contact to IGI on their website by email or phone; but a list of IGI Subsidiaries is here with contact telephone numbers. You could let u sknow what you find. . |

You can still get International Energy and Guinea Insurance stocks through PP although they are "officially closed." You may have to pay a premium to get it "unofficially." I was approached only yesterday and action is required by Wednesday this week. Talk to your broker.

Hello Geeman/All,
I do agree that a forum to share information on available private placements is really good - and im willing to be part of it. The risk level like some of you ahve mentioned is relatively low, and financing could be overcome with available facilities these days. For example - did you know that GT Asurance, International Energy Insurance and Intercontinental Homes recently concluded a Private placement. As penny stocks - these were goldmines. We should think of some sort of notification system to plug into these things.... Im open to your suggestions.... Bala |

The PP price for IEI was 70k....N1.00 is still a good price....go for it !
IEI have applied for listing on the Exchnage....think the listed price will be N1.50. Govt. policy states that there must be 45% local insurance content in the energy industry.....so its almost certain to tripple in value shortly. Can you link me with this guys asap so I can buy more ? |

Well, the official price is 70k, I was offered for 90k, but when I was ready to pay, they said, I was too late.
Guinea was for 90k, 30k above its official price. Does it sound right? Not to me, but do you consider the stock as having good potentials? Then you pay the premium. |

Some 15 years ago, a friend introduced me to trading in stocks. I did not have the knowledge I had about stocks then.
I started and I was 419ed. I and some colleagues were told to issue checks in people's names, supposed sellers of the shares and not in the stockbroker's name by a person working for a stock broking house. His reason was that he will be able to buy the share easier that way and make his cut. Trading was done on a weekly basis then (I think). As is most scams, the first 2 to 3 deals worked out fine and were successful with buying shares of Nigerian Breweries, Cadbury, etc. However, much later, with the appreciation, more people followed this route and of course, more money. One day, he just dissappeared. For over three months we searched for him without success. We finally gave up. A colleague lost over N1 million, another N500,000, mine Nxx,xxx. These are 1993 Naira values. I forgot about dealing in shares for the next ten years before I recovered and ventured back. My Principles and My Advice:
If you go through the 'back side', anything wey commot, na you go take your head carry am o! |

right you are my mine.
the right way works all the time... may be slow but it definately works. so stick with it. |

Your dealer has to cover tracks...if she is accredited then you have a legal case; however, offerings and buy backs are not the same. As long she converted the deal I think she is still okay...option wise

If he's willing and not doing anything wrong, i'll gladly post his contact details for anyone intrested. |

Your best bet is through your broker, especially as you are seeking to buy "unofficially". I think you'd have to execute a transfer form, with whoever is ofering you the shares, and most likely the premium will paid in his/her name...not to Guinea Insurance.....talk to your broker - and be careful!!! Cheers...Bala |
