Sterling Insurance PP

Although Sterling Insurance PP has "officially closed", it is still being sold.
I have an offer to take up a very significant number which I cannot take up at the moment because I do not have the amount of money required. The quantity is 50,000,000 at N1.80k. I have tried to see if they can reduce this into multiples of 5m units without success. I think it is possible, however, for people who are interested in this to pool resources and buy and then cross trade when the stocks are finally listed. I don't know much about this, perhaps, the gurus in the house will throw more light on this and if this is of any interest to you please mail me.

While it is interesting to know that some members of this forum are 'connected' such that secondary private placements are made available to them, it is not really fair to make the kind of assertion above. Geeman I must warn you that 419 scams always sound like opportunity of a lifetime. User beware. This type of offer that is even more demanding than publicised PPs is suspect. 50 million units, wow . Or as you later suggested 5 million each. That sounds absurd. Many PPs are usually at 1million or even less if you are connected. Anyway the seller may have reasons for wanting to leave but I think it is wise to shine your eye well well. Besides, if anything went wrong, it is ab-initio an illegal transaction as the PP has ended officially. I would suggest you to hold your money or seek PPs elsewhere and not to crucify anyone that thinks it could be a scam.

My intention is not to join issues with anyone for making the information available to the forum. I know of some members that are quietly buying into this. My problem though is the general tendency to paint with a tar brush anything that people don't understand as 419 or illegal instead of asking constructive questions to find out the truth.
I am not sure whether simply because you have not heard about something makes that absurd. In this country, it is public knowledge that people have bought 200m units of stocks through PP. Does that make it absurd? I will be hesitant to come to that conclusion. I still maintain that like everything in life, you take a risk or you move on. This is a fact of life, not an unfair assertion.

All d doubt i ave abt d offer is settled.This is definately a bad offer to me.Rather jump into a bottomless well.I only hope pple are not tryin to abuse d integrity of dis forum to swindle pple.I pray d moderator should edit dis type of offer by makin members know its not forum sanctioned. Geeman pls either provide concrete reassurance u not a 419 or expect EFCC

sterling insurance? i av not heard abt that coy before,but that does not make it a scam.

although the minimum purchase is extremely high,,may be it is meant for high networth individual,but still that does not make it a scam.

the forum is meant for exchange of ideas, informationand opinion, i will suggest that members should be mindful of the response to thread, particularly when you are addressing an individual.

orbritto, your statement are too directional, its not too cool in my opinion, despite that geeman too has got some hard words in his posting.

as regards the leadway PP, heard it was going to be firmed up after their AGM which by the way has taken place already. although i got the news about the Leadway PP before the IFC investment in leadway. i am not sure if they still want to proceed with the pp as previously planned. anybody that knows someone working with leadway can easily find out.

does anyone have any info on this?

IFC investment in Leadway happened in April 2007. Are you saying that you got the news about the PP prior to this date?

According to my Stockbroker, this closed last Friday. Just managed to pay for some last Friday to beat the deadline. Will find out if it has been extended.

I Just called my stockbroker to confirm that it closed last Friday. According to her, one of her returns had problems and she was given upto 12 noon tomorrow to submit. Uptil then, anyone with interest can be accommodated. It was 2.10 per share with 30k premium making a total of 2.40 per share. That's how much I paid. Any number of shares bought will be quadruppled. I.e if you buy 100,000 units, it will be multiplied by 4 and you will get 400,000 units.
