At the time I started my career, it may have been worth it to use public transport since I had no family to spend time with, so there was some excess time I could squeeze to develop myself through weekends and in the nights (that was how I wrote and passed that exam anyway) and could download self development tracks on my phone and listen to something good through the rough bus ride.

At the end of the say, there is no hard and fast rule about it because it all depends on your circumstances and your goals.

No be lie. i get about 11 BRT tickets wey i go use for the next two weeks. If you must enter brt bus, make you avoid those "chain" passengers (particularly females that sit together at the back seats). na tory dem go take finish ur ears!!! some men sef no dey try at all!

In a city like Lagos you can spend another 20k settling LASTMA, police, Road Safety, VIO and Council touts every month on traffic offenses. I don't take my car to parts of lagos where, I am not too conversant with. Because, i don't want to mistakenly enter a one-way.

I'm presuming that when he leaves his house, a-N50 bus/cab will be waiting for him to take him to BRT Dopemu. At BRT Dopemu, he is not on any queue to board the BRT bus to CMS. And from TBS, there is no rain/sunshine to the Island maternity.

If the guy spends N4000 refuelling his car, assume this cost is per week. If the man spends N500 per day, for 7-days(1week), he must have spent N3,500 on Transportation. So he basically saved N500. And I want to believe that the N500 saved is for the sun that heats him, the pure water that he pours on his head under the sun, the long wait for bus at his bus-stop, the long wait for BRT buses.


It is economical to walk on barefoot than wearing a shoe!

Why don't you buy a less than N1,000-Road traffic handbook and read. Know all the signs. Know the lane where you will be while driving, turning etc. Most of us get driver's license without knowing these and that is why we 'contribute' to these people for breaking the law. Ensure that your lights(reverse,headlamp,brake,turn signal) are working properly.Have all the necessary accessories in your vehicle which VIO & FRSC officers check. The Road traffic handbook would really help you save money monthly.

I can see you spend more 'contributing' to these guys!

The N4000 is for about 4 to 5 days, he is off duty on 2 days. The guy is an adult in his 40s, and he should be able to know what he thinks is cheap, fast and comfortable for him.
Driving from Egbeda to TBS will take an average car owner 2 hours on a very good day, but with BRT you can save a minimum of 30 minutes on the journey. He does not have to drive himself, BRT buses even show Nigerian and foreign movies during the journey.

It is crazy driving from Sango ota to the island, or driving from Ajah to Magodo on a weekday. The easiest alternative is BRT.

If you get out before 6.30am, and go back to your destination around 3.30pm you may not necessarily meet them.

If you are a regular driver in Lagos, you will understand what this guys can do to a driver no matter how law abiding you may think you are.
