Default Apache this is the post on Zenith!

As I said in an earlier post, I just initated my move to Zenith securities limited and I said I will come back in three months to share my experience, I did not need to wait that long.

I am now regretting the move. If there was a quick way to stop the move, I will be doing it now. I am still waiting to get my stock over, but even when I send a mail to the enquiries email, it takes a day to get a response and when i eventually complained bitterly, I got a response saying they have so many queries and I have to be patient in effect.

I sent a mandate since last saturday, it has still not been done. When i called yesterday, the Mandate was incorrectly copied from my email and I was told to wait till today as the "system" should do these things automatically. I was so furious that I fired off an email to the head of the stock broking unit.

I am still waiting for a response which may never come so even the big guys are not necessarily the good ones.

Somebody mentioned in the post earlier that you might have to get the MD of your current firm, the MD of the new firm to sign before you can move. That is exactly the case and even worse is that the DG herself needs to sign and approve each move I am led to understand. You also need to indemnify everybody before they sign so if you loose some of your shares in the electronic process, there is nobody accountable.

So the question is where does this really leave us, especially those of us abroad who cannot go and shout/ scream at thier offices?...
Apache: I hear you o But why does have to be like this after paying 5M!!! That's the kind of service I expect from Cashcraft

Bman: What's up with your current brokers? Who are they and exactly what are you experiencing with them? Please share. Enlighten us.

Post Thanks...

CKen- thanks for the info. There has been tons of info on Zenith and almost nothing on IBTC (talking on SMN, historically).

Stockbear- long time,
I am currently with Tiddo and plan to remain with them- trying to pick another broker. You know, back up.

Default UBA Stockbrokers and Capital Bancorp

I got to start using UBA stockbrokers because of the Shareplus thing and right now, I must confess I've come to hate going to their office. They're too detached and sometimes give the impression that they're doing you a favour which has made me blow my top a number of times. Also, the hassle of geting to their floor in UBA building is like getting access into CIA headquarters!
I also use Capital Bancorp and I think I'm ok with their service. I'm able to make buy and sell orders by SMS and sometimes, I even make orders without depositing money and then pay later (of course, it could be because I've built a relationship with them over the years). It takes N100,000 to open an account and I could refer anyone interested to the person who handles my account so he/she could get a good start.
The major problem with them is that they have poblems executing small orders with limits - maybe they just abandon it - and I finally gave up on limits some time ago. They also do not have a good web presence.
But in all, I'm ok with their service.

@Stockbear
Didn't see this one, and really i don't have any response to it. What i say is limited to what i know and have experienced. The services that i get from Zen sec is exceptional for me but i can assure you that the day they mess up, you all will definitely know.
I think Alanblow (if he is still in this forum)can update us on happenings after this experience

Question Icml

What about Intercontinental Capital Markets Limited (ICML)-any opinions / experiences?

People we- SMN need to bring our force to bear and move towards 1-3 brokers. At times it is about leverage. If we can get 60% of active SMN members in 1-3 brokers, I think they might just listen to us...

So the Q? ICML...

Try Solid rock securities, Eurocomm securities or Adonai securities.

I'd rather u use a broker wt a reputable name/backin of some sort even it it'll mean savin a lil more. Currently GT bank securities allow ppl to open an account wt a min of N50,000.
