believe me among all the stock brokers i am using, i can 100% recommend Lead Capital to you, their efficiency is still far better than every other in terms of executing transaction, apart from that you can easily monitor your account, place order and also evaluate your porfolio on the net without going all the way to their office, well only if you just feel like seeing the beauty of Zenith building, you can stroll down but apart from that, i think i love their service, they have their shortcomings too but its less sustantial to the service they will render. Even thou i got to know them too late, i invested a little money with them and a huge with other inefficient ones, but with the little i invested, i just love the service.

I quite agree with you, but in addition , i think whenever you open a cscs account , you will be informed that your account has also been registered with the trade alert system.
Also for the benefits of the investing public i will advise we educate ourselves properly by spending more time in making researches on stockbrokers and their actual capabilities and not being sentimental 'cos you will have yourself to blame if you follow the bandwagon.
Kudos to the contributors to this forum.

Good point. That's why it's important to have the same banker as your stockbroker. That way, you take advantage of online banking to carry out transfers without problems. Intrabank transfers are now done at no fees at all, and online too.

.
I was just going through this thread (old thread but current problem! Moreover, l had not "discovered the jewel called SMN by this time) and that last line caught my attention (Interbank transfers are now done at no cost at all? )
My friend, l need to ask you the name of your bank. In buying FBN I.P.O, l did "online transfer from my account with GTB, to my broker's account (not even interbank o!), the charges are (=N=5 per MIL) i.e, for every thousand naira, they chuck N5 off you and you can imagine that end up to for over a million? On top of that, GTB charge VAT at .05% for all "online transactions" done within the month, even after paying the N5/mil! A case of 'double taxation'!
So please 'help m wih your Bank's name, its worth changing, if just for that reason, as l do a lot of online transactions.
Cheers

Apache, I am in agreement with Lead Capital definitely are on top of things from use of technology and accessibility to their staff. Though they could do well with customer service, but I would recommend them anytime.

Dejino,
The =N=5 per thousand is charged by all banks on withdrawals either via transfer, check, or cash. It is not a fee charged only by GTB.

I think the question should be "does the bank charge COT & VAT for Online transactions".

But this general and common experience should caution us against short-term thinking, because while certain decisions are taken/made with a short-term horizon. The fact is that one waits 3-6 months for the certificate, another 1 – 3 months for verification etc…factor in the post office and brokers and the average runs into 12 months!

I am holding out hope that consolidation will improve things…
The comment made about CashCraft are just exactly what they are. I hope they change for better services.

I am still using them as my broker.

Thanks. Gucci

hi all,

this is my first post here and this is my experience.

Broker: Intercontinental Securities

Duration = less than 1 year
Communication = 3/5
Accuracy = 3/5
Speed of execution = 4/5
Online facility = N/A
Ease of Transfer = NA

I usually contact with the staff by email.
I personaly think they are "average".
I'm not saying that I'm not satisfied with them but since they don't have online service, I may be considering about change the broker.

So, here is my question;

Zenith Securities/FSDH...Which one is better?

Default nigerian Stockbrokers.

I just joined this forum today and was going through the messages when I stumbled on this.

I currently use Intercontinental Securities on 17th Floor Conoil building on the Marina. I am not getting a completely good service but I am tied to them because of the dictum ' you don't patronise a beans seller outside when your mother sell beans'.

However, if someone is abroad and is looking for a reliable stock broker I think Vetiva is a sure bet. They are a high profile investment management, stockbroking et all house. To open with them you need a minimum N1m and could go on. The website is Vetiva Capital Management » Passionately Professional. You might check it out and give them a call. It is my destination in the next couple of weeks.

Have a nice day

Default Has anyone tried Diamond Securities

Has anyone from abroad used Diamond Securities (a subsidiary of Diamond Bank)?

Are they professional? Do their account officers respond to emails within on time and do you have to keep calling and reminding before stock is bought? Contract notes sent by email?

How do they compare with other brokers?

Thanks.
