I think you can use the same CHN number but i suspect it might be a long process. I will advice you just open a new account with them and get a new CHN number. that's what i am currently doing with Zenith and Lead. Hope this helps
Thanks, will call him and go to their office next month when i'm in Niaja.

If you have decided to use Lead Capital, you can actually open an account with them without having to visit them or go to their office.
All the documents to be filled are on their website (click on "Open an Account") :: Welcome to LeadCapital Limited ::

Just download the forms, print it, fill it and attach your passport photograph where necessary, scan the filled forms and send them by email to Kayode and in a week's time you will get ur CHN and trade alert directly from cscs. (definitely, you will need to call him so that he is aware that you will be sending the documents by email)
He will provide you with their GTBank account where you can be remitting your monies, your online login details and you will see everything updated on their website.
I stay in lagos but when i was opening the account, i never visited their office. My account was opened just like i stated above but give Kayode a call so that he will tell you the additional documents you are to send (you will need to send a scanned copy of your driver's license and an utility bill)
His email address is kayode.akinjogbin@leadcapitalng.com
hope this helps

Yes, you can.

For each stockbroker you have, they will open a different CSCS account for you.

If you have 2/3 stockbrokers, you will definately have 2/3 CSCS accounts.

You could also have multiple CSCS number in the same house depending on how you switch your names.

Lead Capital charges approximately 2.355% on there buy transactions in the secondary market. I hope that helps.

By regulation, one can have multiple CSCS account number (all numeric) but should have only one CHN number (alpha numeric) irregardless of how many brokerage account the individual maintains. Stockbrokers are suppose to link each investor's account to a single CHN or be able combine them at investor's request. I am yet to find a stockbroker that does this either because the infrastructure is not in place or just a CSCS Ltd policy that was issued with no way of implementing it.

@ BBH, It's not necessary you come to Naija to open a stockbroking account. If you read through my discussion with Jumyj on this same page you will see some steps i have outlined on how to open an account with some stockbrokers without having to be there. All you need is a good internet connection and a scanning machine Shikena!
If you are financially bouyant, i will advice you go for those firms that have very good online facilities. Firms like Zenith Securities, IBTC etc.

Default In Search Of Reliable Stockbroker

I suggest that if you ever wanted a reliable stockbroking firm, opt for ZENITH SECURITIES. You might not find the most efficiency in any of our stockbroking firms but Zenith securities is aspiring to attaining that. Thanks

My advice to u is to be very careful. Many of these brokers will not remit money to you from sales of ur shares after 30 days or more of selling such security. I believe they trade with ur money for like 1 month and if ure not persistent some of them can keep ur money for like 2 months (centre point investment ltd is good example of such a coy)
Go for the established stockbroker ibtc, zenith capital, etc

Default JUST TO ALERT THE HOUSE(Fraudsters Hit Banks, CSCS Websites)

came accross this today.....and I belive the information could be of help to someone.......

"Cyber-fraudsters have launched a massive attack on the websites of two major banks in the country. The attack is believed to have resulted in the loss of million of naira by unsuspecting customers of these banks.
BusinessWorld Intelligence can reveal that the first bank to be attacked is among the top three banks’ websites in the last web jurist rating conducted by Phillips Consulting while the second one is among the top 11.
The banks were forced to shut down their websites temporarily after discovering the scam to prevent further damage and loss of money. One of the affected banks had in a quick response to the attack advised its customers as follows: “We wish to draw your attention to the circulation of scam e-mails by fraudsters requesting customers to update their accounts records by clicking on links to spurious internet banking websites. These mails also request customers to provide other sensitive information about their accounts and ATM personal identification numbers (PIN). If you have received such mails please ignore as they did not originate from us”. The bank also directed the affected customers to call some numbers for immediate redress.
The card details of thousands of bank customers were also recently stolen by a gang of fraudsters who hacked into some banks’ Automated Teller Machines (ATM) and made away with some unspecified millions of naira.
The hackers had recently gained access to the website of the Central Securities and Clearing System (CSCS)and posted some strange pictures and illustrations aimed at cloning the website for fraudulent means. There was prompt intervention by the organization which prevented what could have been a devastating occurrence in view of the massive activities in the capital market"..........

Default UBA stockbroker

I have UBA stock broking acccount which I am operating as a non resident Nigerian (based in UK) . However, I have asked them to buy Oceanic bank shares for me since about 9 working days ago and up till today this has not been effected. I previously askedthem to buy AIICO IPO which they failed to buy. Is this normal practice within stock brocking firms in Nigeria? Any reputable recommendation will be well appreciated. Thanks.
