My brother, a better way of knowing what to do is to pick up the financial statements for 2 or 3 other banks from say Zenith, Guaranty, First, Stanbic, Skye; work out some ratios and compare with Union's. If Union is always going off at a tangent, you know what to do. But if it always aligns with what you are getting for the others, you also know what to do. Sorry you have to know these ratios by doing some small reading yourself.

Oga Sparks&Flashes, Please Union Bank is a strong brand in the Nigerian banking landscape. Currently, it has challenges it is trying to address. This may take some 2-5 years to resolve.

My simple advice is: allow them to sort themselves out and buy into the stock later when the coast starts getting clearer on the firm. Remember, they just got an approval for the extension of this fund-raising. This simply implies that the market is not very receptive of their offer. Forget about their forecasts, for they are but forecasts with some many natural caveats. Imagine you bought their public offer of 2005/6 at N20.00/share. What would have been your return now? Negative!

Right now, there are many good companies that are trading at some deep discounts into which you can plough your money.
